Right now I'd go

PURDUE
WISCONSIN
MINNESOTA

In that order but it's close and teams 4 through at least 8 aren't really all that far off either. Home teams are 14-11 so far. That should tell you how even stuff is

Still think Wisconsin is the heavy favorites. But gophs got a chance to really make a push if they keep focus

I'd still lean Wisconsin as well because I think they have the best talent and highest ceiling but Minnesota has definitely performed better to date than they have.

You ever go to the BIG tourney? Thinking about going this year but not trying to pay to watch Penn state vs Rutgers.

Anyway to avoid that?

I've never gone but seriously thinking about it this year since its in DC and only about an hour and a half away from where I live.

If I understand it correctly I think its broken down into individual sessions. For example Session 1 is #11 vs. #14 and #12 vs. #13 that first night, which is Wednesday night I believe. Session 2 is the afternoon games the following day, the 12:00 and 2:30 tip times. Session 3 is the late tips. And the just follow that pattern. I was thinking about getting tix for Sessions 2, 3, 4, and 5 which is all day Thursday and Friday.

Or you can buy a pass for ALL sessions which would bring down cost per game. Probably cheaper to go that route if for instance you wanted to go Thursday-Sunday

Cool thanks.

My buddy is the one whose been looking so far. He was saying like $320 for the whole weekend which isn't bad if Gophs go deep. But I don't wanna pay for a bunch of shitty games if we lose round 1 lol

Yeah its tough. I would obviously wanna see the Gophers. I'd like to wait and see if its probable they finish #2/#3 in conf and get tix for Friday night session and Saturday. But I'd be pissed if the finished #4/#5 and I didn't get too see them at all. Lol.

Yeah might just have to wait it out and see how tickets are closer to date.

There's no way to sell individual games? Or buy of scalpers?

I honestly have no clue, I'd love the option to buy individual games, but I think they only allow that for students.

@mr.hockey4242

Looks like the lowest I found for all session games is $310.

Session 1 lowest - $6
Session 2 lowest - $8
Session 3 lowest - $24
Session 4 lowest - $38
Session 5 lowest - $53
Session 6 lowest - $90
Session 7 lowest - $100

Total cost of each individual session is: $319.

Slightly cheaper to get a pass for all sessions, but Wednesday night is going to suck so it's really a difference of only $3. Have no clue where the seats would be, but my guess is they aren't great. lol. If I knew what session the Gophers were going to be in, I'd spend a little extra for better seats. I really only wanted to go Thursday and Friday(to much bball on Saturday/Sunday), so I'd have no problem forking over $150 for either Friday session, depending on what seed they get. It really would be convenient for the Gophers to be a top 5 seed from a spending perspective. lol. If they are #5 seed, session 3 is still relatively cheap and if they win, they'll play during the day the next which would also be less expensive.

I really thought Ohio State would be better than this. This just goes to show how far the recruiting has dipped at Ohio State the last 4 years(along with the 2015 class totally bailing on him). Ohio State starts a senior, two red shirt juniors, a junior and red shirt sophomore and they don't seem mentally tough to close out games for some reason. I think Marc Loving has been a huge disappointment in his career.

Maybe it gets turned around, but they're projected to finish 8-10 in conference, and that certainly won't be enough to get them in the NCAAT. Is there heat on Matta at all now?

Yeah I think I'm just gonna roll with and wait to buy for a while. I'm down with spending more if it means I'm watching gophs play meaningful games. So kinda a win/win to wait

Player development is almost non existent. It's not like we have a bunch of nobody recruits on the roster

2013 Class -

Marc Loving was #61 Overall
Kam Williams was #71 Overall

2014 Class -

Keita Bates-Diop was #29 Overall
Jae'Sean Tate was #57 Overall

2015 Class -

JaQuan Lyle was #41 Overall
The other 4 star players we had all transferred (guess that should speak of something)

There's no excuse for them being this bad. They should at least be able to make the tournament as a 8-10 type seed. At this point they might not even make the NIT.

Coaching has a lot to do with this trainwreck. I think Matta needs to go, it's got to the point where the program has just got totally stale. They need to go for a shot in the arm instead of just continuing to ride a sinking ship.

Yeah, that is true. Player development just hasn't been there. I do think the recruiting has dipped as well, at least from where he's had it at certain times(Oden/Conley/Cook for example, or even class like Sullinger/Thomas/Craft)

Every program has its up and downs, hell even UNC and Kentucky have missed the NCAAT within the past 7 years or so, but it just feels like this is trending towards a downward path, and with what is coming in next year as far as recruiting, it doesn't look as if it will turn around. Really is stunning. Ohio State was rolling as a basketball program.

Compared to those 2 classes, yes it has fallen off, but it has not been terrible.

Though it is starting to turn terrible, The 2017 class is Kaleb Wesson, whos a top 100 guy and a PG who we beat Western Kentucky for. 2018 is meh 1 4 star and 2 Ohio 3 starts. So it's turning to the point where we are starting to have to slum for not so highly praised local guys.

I think it's like I said, the program has just got stale. Upper level guys just don't want to come here, the last 2 years there were some great players in Ohio and they all went elsewhere.

Oh yeah certainly hasn't been terrible. As a Gophers fan I would kill for Ohio State's 2013, 2014 and 2015 classes(assuming all would have stayed). Matta just set the bar extremely high with that initial class in 2006. But I would agree seems the program has gotten a little stale, for whatever reason, I'm not really sure. Is Matta on the hot seat at all, that you would know of?

All session tickets are they way to go unless you only care about 1 team. I've gone 4 times and always get all session because I love college basketball ( even if Iowa loses early ). Luckily I saw their run to the title in 2001 and to the finals in 02. Lost 1st game the other 2 times but I still saw great games. 350-400 for 13 games is cheap

He should be. I think there is the bad attitude among a lot of Ohio State hoops fans that "We arent going to do any better so we might as well keep Matta". He has a lot of defenders even though he shouldnt, especially the way this year is going after last years mess.

My guess would be no matter how this year closes out he'll get another one just based off the success he has had. But 2017-2018 he should make sure to have them back in the tournament if he doesn't want to get fired IMO.

The prospects for next year arent very good, no matter who returns. You can't make chicken salad out of chicken shit and I wouldn't expect guys who have been mediocre to be any less mediocre. It's not like we are adding any instant impact guys either.
