Man ISU is snakebit. 1 possession losses to the only 2 unbeaten left ( Gonzaga and Baylor) and a 1 point loss to a very good Cincinnati team. They're like a whisper away from being 12-1 and top 5 in the country

They should honestly win those close games given the experience they have. They start 5 seniors. I think they'll struggle to make the tournament.

Yeah and a 20 point loss to Iowa or whatever it was. And probably should have lost to Indiana State as well. I think they'll finish conf play like 7-11 or 8-10.

Baylor has been a really sneaky program. They've consistently made the tournament and gotten some decent seeds. So, they're not just a flash in the pan. This team is the result of years of building. And a few first round disaster early exits (as if anybody noticed...)

I think they'll actually do OK. They're setting up to be a 2 or 3 seed. Probably not Final 4, but regional semis or final.

I'll tell you one thing. Baylor could be the least cared about #1 team in college basketball since ... ever.

Was Auburn ever #1 those years in the 90s?

That Auburn team got to as high as #2 in 1999. They ended up being a 1 seed and losing in the Sweet 16 to Ohio State(who went on to the final four, only to have it vacated)

As for Baylor, I think they'll definitely make the S16 at minimum. They've positioned themselves for a #1 seed at this point. Obviously they won't go undefeated this season, and will take their share of losses, but I don't think they'll lose enough where they fall to the 3 or 4 line and have to probably play a top 25 team in the 2nd round or a 5/6 seed.

At this point Baylor is projected to finish 26-4 heading into the Big 12 tournament. Which would have them sitting at #1 in the RPI and #2 SOS, which would undoubtedly get them a #1 seed I would think.

I actually watched that game between Iowa State and Indiana State, refs totally gave Indiana State the screwjob on that game

It's all about match ups. If they have a one seed in the end of the year they will obviously win the first game and then the second game will be vs an average team. If that team has a style that is advantageous to the way Baylor plays they will win easy if their style is or skills in certain areas do not match up well then they could be in for a long night.

We are going to get a good look at Baylor today. #25 KState is -2.5 @ home against the #1 team in the country. Which surprises me. I expected the Bears to be the favorite even in Manhattan. I went with Baylor in the this weekends pool. It worries me when Mr. Hockey puts out advice and I don't heed it.
