There is a plethora of things that this could have been for. I am OK with this decision, as I was so bored with the program. The team just seemed like a "blah" program. Never really exciting. Couldn't beat the big time teams. Never could find that QB that can dominate the position.

Move on to something new. I know it's "But we won 9 games and the bowl" But this was jerry 2.0 and I don't think we would ever move on from this achievement.

I can absolutely see this point. But I will stand by my word in saying there were a bunch of reasons that he could have been fired. Not a single for sure reason. But a little bit of everything. You may be right with them being on the up and up, but it always seemed that way and we rarely beat the top dogs. Never proved that they were ready to take that next step. I always would say, next year they will make that push. Never happened.

I believe coyle wanted Claeys out and found a way

In the end our program has a ceiling. I understand wanting more. our defense was consistently good, offense needed to figure things out. worried our defense well regress and offense will at best marginally improve

Biggest worry as well. Claeys coached defense very well.

There were many reasons to tell Matt Foley to hit the road.

His in game decisions were maddening and I'd have fired him and his entire staff after the Michigan loss last year. There are middle school coaches with better clock management than that.

He is not a good leader and he only got the job by default.

14th out of 14 in the conference in recruiting. Behind those two powerhouses Maryland and Rutgers (Why the Big Ten saved those losers, I don't know).

Nobody shows up to TCF anymore because they raised prices and didn't raise the product by getting at least one signature win.

I wanted Claeys gone a long time ago, but Coyle handled this so terribly that he should be hitting the unemployment line with him. He turned him into a scapegoat when he wouldn't come out of his bunker and face the media, then strung Clays along for another week for no good reason. As for Kaler, he should have been gone with Teague.

This entire regime stinks from top to bottom and needs to be purged.
