I think its a slippery slope...if you know that you are not going to get all the targeted recruits you're after it makes sense to fill it with JUCO's and just not fill the class with kids that may never see the field in their careers at WV..
But if you keep going to the well like this you will run into depth issues sooner or later...and it will definitely impact scout teams and practices..
One thing I haven't really kept up on is how Dana manages the walkon program...I give Rich and Nehlen a lot of credit there..they had a good system for it..
We'll have to see how hard Dana hits the JUCO route going forward. Outside of '13 and this year, Dana has averaged around 4 JUCO's per class.
In '13, he was attempting to build depth of upperclassmen because of the critical shortages he inherited from Billy. This year, he had to get the best talent possible after being hurt for the past year and a half with no extension.
I doubt we'll see the need to hit JUCO's this hard going forward.
