Question: Is transitioning from FBS to FCS considered "moving down"?

Not according to Chuck Staben it's not. It's "moving forward".

Idaho President Staben on football move: ‘We’re not moving down, we’re moving forward’

Really, this lying piece of shit isn't qualified to be the president of a Village People Fan Club, much less a university. Gotta love him continuing to parrot the absolute garbage that more people support the Big Sky than oppose it. This has been disproven but he'll continue to live in his world of delusion.

By the way, I'm super stoked to watch the Boise Everybody's Last Choice Bowl on ESPN and hear the gutless, uninformed announcers praise this pussy's decision for 3 hours straight. Just making a bowl SHOULD provide exposure and some publicity for the school, but the only thing anybody is going to be talking about is how Idaho is only school with an administration lazy, inept, and cowardly enough to give up and willingly downsize the football program.

Fuck you Chuck Staben. Lick my fucking ass.

LOL!

You were talking about the Arizona bowl as the other option, I think you were better off in this one. Yes Arizona would be a better destination but the game is on some irrelevant TV network and will bring no exposure as no one will watch the Arizona bowl

There were advantages and disadvantages to both. The Arizona Bowl actually got picked up by a lot of network affiliates across the country so I would imagine pretty much everyone in the U.S. will be able to watch it on TV without issue.

Don't know about payout because the Arizona Bowl had a weird system there, but it's probably lower than the Boise Bowl even though the Boise Bowl's isn't big either.

Like you said location is advantage Arizona and i'm pretty sure most players and coaches would have preferred it.

Biggest thing for me was Idaho essentially having the Arizona Bowl of inked in. Then ESPN and Karl Benson basically told them to fuck off with that and ordered them to go to Boise. The date of the Boise Bowl made it a real pain in the ass for me if I wanted to go. Too short of notice, so I'm not going.

Oh, and then there's the opponent. I thought Idaho had an outside chance against AFA. I'll be surprised if they cover against CSU.

That part sucks about you not being able to go.

Air Force would have been tough also, them and Colorado State ended the year on quite the roll. New Mexico or Wyoming may have been your best shot to beat a team from the Mountain west

Eh I can deal with it. I'd be legit a bit pissed if it was some new location I hadn't been to before. I made the 2009 H-Bowl and I seriously doubt this game is going to be a close thriller like that one.

I definitely agree about Wyoming and UNM. When I heard they were changing the bowls I was hoping for the Wyoming match up. No such luck.

You guys at least have a good location even if the opponent is a bit weak. Chase Field is a fun stadium but the seating might be weird when they convert from the baseball layout.
