The Hoosiers have now knocked off 2 Top 5 teams beating Kansas in each teams' respective first game and last night knocking off the Tar Heels in a somewhat convincing fashion. Right now they aren't getting much love with their one loss coming to the Fort Wayne Mastadons.

They have blown out other teams so I wouldn't want to call them a team who plays to their competition but do you think this team is real and where do you expect them to be ranked with the next release?

I would expect them to be back into the top 10. Their good is obviously as good as any other Final Four contender. But they did play and lose to a team, that probably isn't a top 100 team, when it's all said and done, meaning they can be beaten, especially on the road, like the game against IPFW.

My guess is they will be a 2 or 3 seed, could potentially lose in the first round, or win the whole thing. OG health is paramount to this teams' success though, he's gotta stay healthy for them to contend for a title IMO.

This early in the season about all you can summarize is that they are very lackadaisical, but also capable. That's what a season is for. To season a team so they can weather a Fort Wayne type team once they get in the tourney.

Too early to tell. A couple of great wins, paired with an awful loss. Need to see more of a sample size.

I just enjoyed seeing UNC lose and Roy call out his own fanbase.

This is literally my first time committing to watch NCAA B-Ball before March Madness so the ebs and flows of a season are well out of my understanding.

One thing I noticed against UNC is the tremendous amount of frontcourt depth Indiana has. In a game where they are not shooting well, that will allow them to match up with just about anybody in the country, namely Duke, Kentucky, and obviously UNC.

That's a very short list of teams.

Which makes their loss to IPFW all the more puzzling.

When this team is focused they can beat anyone. As soon as they beat Kansas everyone was on their dick and because they're young they believed they could beat FW just by showing up. FW was ready for us and just shut us down. I wasn't even mad they lost, brought them back to earth. Now that it's out of our system we're fine and a legit contender.

We still live and die by the three but our offense doesn't sputter out for stretches like it did last year so I'm pretty high on this team. As long as we get OG back.

I don't think IPFW loss is bad at all, especially on their home floor. I think they're a top 70 team, RPI wise.

It's bad for a contender this year. The top is strong...

I guess my biggest question is you claim to hate college football because you "don't have any interest in watching future mail carriers play football", wouldn't the same apply for college basketball?

That's a very fair question and good memory! I actually thought about it myself because it doesn't make sense. But I think the logic of it at the end of the day (hard to put logic on something based on feelings) is that with 300 people to a football team the product is much more watered down than a sport where 1-2 people can take over a game. I like the game of football more but when it comes to amateurs I love watching basketball.

Some of that may have to do with growing up in St. Louis where we never had a pro ball team (in my lifetime). So I grew up going to Billikens games watching Erwin Clagget, Anthony Bonner, Larry Hughes and coach Charlie Spoonhour. I also attended a lot of high school games watching Hughes and Jayson Tatum battle each others' prep schools.

That IPFW game was a mess if we played them again it would surely be a easy win.

I think this question can safely be answered with a "No" now.
