It appears Penn State is pushing hard to lock up Franklin with a big contract. What they really need to do is lock up Moorehead with a extension. Don't let that man leave for a HC position.

His staff will get raises as well. As far as Moorhead, Franklin made it clear he didn't want a 1 and done or short timer to Moorhead, I think we get 3 years from him, we are back to elite status at that point and he gets a very good HC job somewhere. Pry also deserves a HUGE raise, he has been nothing short of tremendous turning the defense around after the slew of injuries early in season. Franklin extension has been in works for few weeks, really wouldn't be surprised to see them capitalize on momentum this week leading up to B1G title game if we end up making it and announcing this week

Thread title is a joke now. Is there anyone here who would still like to see that?

Franklin is still a so so coach I feel and its the new DC, OC and Linegrove with that O-Line producing with all the injuries that should deserve the majority of the credit. For the record I never said we should fire Franklin and hire Miles but after the UM game I was thinking maybe we should.

I'm not trying to call you out or anything, I think we were all a bit displeased with Franklin at the beginning of the season. Those hires have made all the difference, but you have to remember, who was the one that made those hires? It was Franklin and I think he deserves as much credit as anyone for how far this team has come.

Agree, of course Franklin knew his butt was on the hot seat but that being said he DID make the changes and to this point they worked. Sometimes being a great leader is being able to say "what I am doing is not working." Give Franklin credit for doing that. All is well that ends well. Congrats to this team and keep it going.

I'll give Franklin credit for the hires and he has handled the team.

All of us were not displeased. I have had faith in Franklin since day 1 and never wavered. The guy was building a monster with recruiting, never had a losing season with half a roster and now HIS players are playing lights out football and giving us a very bright future.

This is just the beginning, enjoy the ride, recruiting will be like fish in a barrel now, picking and choosing more than trying to convince kids that we can get back, our coach is not on the hotseat, etc

A "so so" coach? No way. I agree the coordinators have been phenomenal and deserve tons of credit, but Franklin does as well. These team has intangibles that make them very special, and a lot of that is because of Franklin...in my opinion.

His time management skills especially timeouts in past games mostly last year had me questioning his coaching abilities. Those mistakes could have cost us games. We all know he can recruit but I am still not 100% sold on him as a elite coach. I love the hires this season and it paid huge dividends. I am cautiously optimistic. It's a great time to be a Penn State fan. Love the adversity the whole team has over come with the sanctions and now the rain is lessoning and we can finally see the sun.
