How Nick Saban, Alabama are breaking SEC football

I think two of those tigers should be medium sized and walking on their own but not weighing down Bama.

rutgers, Idaho, and Portland State were down this year
Washington played 10 P5 opponents this year. The Rutgers game was scheduled near five years ago when they were going bowling and no it wasn't a neutral site game, it was an actual home & away series with an OOC opponent. Not too many SEC schools remember what that's like.

Alabama beat the team that your team just lost to 52-6.

BCF Toys - Degree of Difficulty

The likelihood an elite team would have a 10-0 record on Alabama's schedule is 21%, 5% for a very good team, and 3% for a good team.

The next best degree of difficulty is Clemson with 61%.

You're REAL mad.

True. But were not arguing how good Alabama is. We all agree on that. that team Alabama beat (USC) is now ranked higher than any other SEC team not called Alabama.

Ranks are a matter of record more than they are team strength.

You can do that when you play a no testicle 8 game conference schedule.

Or you know, you can just schedule your cupcake that week instead of the 1st 3 weeks.

The difference is, the SEC always has 3 cupcakes.

These 3 teams are horrid this year. P5 needs to play more P5.

P5 doesn't really mean shit.

There are FCS teams that are better than some P5 teams.

Kansas is #123 in the composite and #116 in the FEI

College Football Ranking Composite

And then even if you did just have P5 teams there are like 64 teams or something like that. It's a large range and yet somehow "P5" is supposed to have meaning for schedule strength?

There are SoS rankings that take care of this issue.

Thats one thing I will give LSU credit for. I don't see a valid reason why a team wouldn'nt play a home and home. I don't buy the distance thing. Even if you just look at USC. They have played several home and homes through the years. Including some top tier teams. OSU,Nebraska... But home and home with Syracuse,BC......Those covered a very long distance as far as travel.Even when they were back at the top. They traveled to play VT

I agree it skews the numbers which make the data moot and waters down the rankings . The stats being provided are directly effected within the conference. Due to the padding of extra FCS games. Which doesn't provide a true picture or viable data.

These 3 teams are horrid this year. However, Rutgers could beat 90% of the SEC opponents this week.
Washington fans are not allowed to talk about SOS.......it's about to cost you a NC shot

Its cyclical, always has been, always will be. SEC had a great run, but it was silly to believe it was going to last forever.

I have to chuckle when I see SEC people try to explain how it's tougher to play 9 P5 teams vs 10 ... like the SEC planned it that way. It's like telling people that up is down and right is actually left.

Nothing is going to stop that until Saban leaves or they get get busted for buying players, etc...

You have to wonder how long it will take before the SEC starts blowing the whistle on their own, like they did years ago. But you have to have your own house in order first. Probably why it hasn't happened yet. Plus you have to have an NCAA that actually wants to bust programs instead of turning a blind eye.

As much as Alabama fans want to think it's all Saban, there is obviously something else going on there.
