With the P5 conference champions getting auto bids with 3 at large, I think you would see more quality OOC. With conference champion being an auto, a OOC loss wouldn't hurt. But for the 3 at large having some quality OOC wins would be a great help.

So let me see if I understand this right.

You have 8 spots available and you still need to have conference champions with an auto bid?

If your conference can't put it's champion into the top8 spots, then maybe there is a good reason for it.

I like 4 teams consisting of 3 conference champs and one at large bid for a second SEC team. That's the most fair way of going about it.
