why is it when a team wins a championship the general board becomes their fans team board?

God help this place if the Cowboys ever win again
Pretty sure the Broncos have had a pretty sizeable presence on the hoop since I've been here in Summer 2013 which is about when CBS and ESPN went belly up on their message boards. Couple that with a couple migrations from places like KFFL and presto. Ditto with the Pats and Seahawks.

No argument here.
Team topics on the general board was the point
AND
cowboy fans (should their team win) will be far and away the worst

I'm sorry, should the weekly "post here if your team is x-x" thread been put on the Broncos board? I thought that was a thing that everyone did when their team did well. I'll try not to make that mistake again.

Pretty sure that thread lasted most of the season last year with plenty of fans of teams starting it. Usually the team that wins first that is still undefeated sees their fans post it.

We even had one for the preseason.

Jealousy I guess. Most of the broncos centric threads have not been created by broncos fans. More serious answer, the internet is filled with a-holes.

Also just a quick note on that defense not looking as good. They still held the MVP of the league to under 200 yards and a QB rating of 69.5. Not saying they were perfect by any means and maybe they are not as dominant as last year but they still look pretty darn good from my stand point.

As I said it was a good win, but they were at home, the thin air affects everyone that plays there, and they would have lost if the long snapper hadn't have blown it....
I would take that win as a positive for the O more than the D, because they kept fighting and played beyond expectations, while by your own admittance the D played down from theirs....
Sim looks like he's got the tools to be a good qb, he just has to pay the price of experience yet to be depended on to shoulder a win in tight games away....
It will be interesting to see how he does on the road in a hostile environment under duress....

You are right the defense didn't play to their usual standards. Still if struggling on defense is holding the MVP of the league to those kind of numbers I will take that most weeks. In the 1st half the Broncos talked about it they had a ton of miscommunications between the players and coaches. IT is why they kept getting penalties for 12 men on the field. 2nd half they cleaned a lot of that up. So if it is mental mistakes more so than lack of talent I think those are things they can clean up and put together 4 quarters of good play instead of just a half.

As with anything in this league though can't get too high or low because of a week 1 game. I think for Bronco fans though we are just a bit pumped up today because most were predicting just like in the Super Bowl they were predicting that the Broncos would get blown out by the Panthers. I would say 90% of all analyst/experts that I read this week picked the Panthers to run away with this one. So to come out with a victory in a game most counted as a loss just feels pretty good. Long season still left but a good start.

I gotcha !!.....I have never been sold on Cam, but I did think with their D and Benjamin back, they would win handily.....I forgot for a moment that Cam is an overhyped quitter that reminds me of Mike Tyson in a way....
If you could last through his first barrage of punches, he would start giving up....
He holds the ball too long and looks slow when he runs, obviously does not do well under pressure....

Oh I agree. If you can take their early punches and try to punch back with some success you can definitely rattle him. Problem is not many teams have the personnel at all levels to hold up to such a punch. You have to be a physical team and with this league switching so much to the high flying systems that we see that just don't have the size/strength to hold up against such a unique running system. It is why though the Broncos continue to be one of the few teams that really give him and the Panthers fits every single time. There are just some teams that line up well with others. Honestly though I was more surprised by our offense actually moving the ball pretty well. Looks like that unit is at least a little improved over what they were last year. Just have to stop turning the ball over like that. Nothing more frustrating than watching them have this great promising drive and get into scoring position to fumble or throw a pick.

I think you've heard me question whether the D can live up to LY standard...good effort, they were able to turn up the heat when it mattered most...a flag got them in position to even attempt a FG.

Can't say any better than what old school did.

A win is a win...congrats! I'll take one just like it Monday night!

An ugly win will always trump a pretty loss. When I think 52% of all NFL games are decided by a touchdown or less you are going to have plenty of games that can go either way. What we see every year is that good teams find ways to win those games and yes sometimes do have luck on their side. One could say though that the Broncos got extremely unlucky earlier in the drive with the hands to the face penalty where the Panthers shouldn't have even had the chance to try the field goal. So to me kind of balanced itself out.
