were those 12 assists by Kyrie the most ever in an olympic basketball game?

i know it is for this tournament- but hte language of the story seemed to indicate that was the record.....that would be pretty crazy if that is the case.

Just so glad that the rest of the nation is finally getting to see the amazingly talented Kyrie Irving. An NBA Title and a possible Gold Medal just months apart- would be AMAZING- especially considering the integral roles he has played/playing on both teams.

LeBron has to be just thrilled that he picked the right guy to team up with for the latter years of his career and that he was able to do it in The Land. No doubt- LeBron never got help from anyone he ever played with like he got from Kyrie in order to win that title.

Lets hope KI can help lead Team USA to a gold medal.

I get Carmelo is crazy when it comes to international play, but I'm really surprised that with the lack of playmakers involved on this team that Draymond doesn't get more run. He was even benched for the most part for one game.

As constructed, the best lineup they could probably put out there to start games would be Irving, Thompson, Durant, Draymond and Jordan. Then first wave off the bench would be Lowry, Butler, George, Melo and Cousins. The first unit would be more cohesive offensively, and could set a tone defensively with their two best interior defenders on the court at the same time. Second unit could run more through Melo and George. Derozan and Barnes would have to take a seat.

If you put KI and Draymond in a P&R, let Thompson space and have Durant either open on the wing or as a secondary P&R with Draymond, I think that would be much more efficient offensively.

Melo, Durant, Cousins, George, Derozan, Lowry, Irving all have that "too many chefs in the kitchen" vibe going on. The reason the last teams were MORE successful was because you had guys like Iguodala, Lebron, CP3 and others facilitating for others.

Are you watching the games?

Kyrie was better against France, but he is not leading this team anywhere. He is part of the problem. He is stopping the ball constantly in the half court. Most of his 12 assists came on broken plays and in transition, where he is great.

Even if he was watching, he wouldn't understand what he is seeing.
