I make mine about a third of a pound, wife gives me hell because i don't get more burgers out of a pound of meat.

More heat might do the trick to keep the inside rarer and the outside more done.?.

I have NEVER tried Rally's but always seem to see their frozen seasoned fries in the supermarket, are they any good?

I don't know that I've ever been to a Rally's. I was just joking about places you should feel safe eating a Pittsburgh rare burger from. Rally's is decidedly NOT a place like that.

Only place I try that is a well-respected steakhouse that grinds their own meat in house.

:rip:

Medium rare to medium on the burger, depending on where I'm ordering
Rare to medium rare on steak or it gets taken off the bill. I'm too scared to send shit back so I get all passive aggressive with, "no, thank you. I just wanted it cooked right the first time. Ill just eat more bread. You can take it off the table. Thank you"

Smart. A lot of people don't realize that a new steak can be spit on just like one that's sent back.

When I was in high school I worked at a steak house. I saw some crazy shit.

I saw Waiting. I'm not fucking around with a spiteful sumbech that's having a rough day because someone cut him off in traffic earlier!

I have seen that movie several times. That really happens.

I'm sure it does happen. I worked at some restaurants and I saw things happen, and I've heard about plenty.

Frankly, I'm more worried about the semi-homeless kid with band-aids on his fingers working in the kitchen at McDonalds. Can't wait for robots to take their jobs.

As long as you're not a complete ass, you're typically fine. Just be polite and don't be a pain in the ass for no reason.

Exactly. I've sent steaks back, but for being overcooked, not under. I typically wouldn't do that unless it's way over done, but I have done it.

Just don't be an asshole.

It shouldn't happen...As a Chef, there is NO reason to mess with someones food...I have worked with Chefs who have and I thought it was disgusting. The kind of thing were if someone will ask for something spicy, the Chef will say "Oh yeah? Here you go!!!" and make it CRAZY spicy out of spite...Not cool..

This. Particularly if it's something nasty like spit or pubes.

It's like messing with someone's car. I don't care how mad you are, that's chicken shit. If I saw someone spitting in someone's food, I'd stab one of their testicles with a fork and then I'd leave it in their and use a torch to heat it up.

I'm talking about 16-20 year olds. You can never tell what they will do.

True that, but that goes for every restaurant. Those kinds of folks work less at places like Ruth's Chris and more at places like Burger King or Fridays. Or pizza places. I bet 75% of people that work at pizza shops are depraved teenagers eager to rub their nut sacks on the pizza dough.

They are called Checkers in Alabama and they are pretty good.

Similiar to Arby's fries.

I buy those in the supermarket and enjoy them from time to time. My wife doesn't like them as much as I do, so we don't get them that often. Plus, I've been on a diet lately and french fries aren't a common menu item for me.

Worth trying IMO if you like seasoned fries.

I worked at Baskin Robbins when I was 16 and this chick Debbie ordered an ice cream cake for a birthday and this other chick, April, didn't like her because she hooked up with this dude that our friend Tara liked and she was kind of a bitch about it. After Debbie picked up her cake, April told us she spit on it when she was boxing it up for her. :puke:

No offense intended, but people who eat steak well done don't know what steak tastes like. At least go medium well to for a bit of flavor!

I've heard that but disagree. I could go mw or may be medium.

The flavor is cooked out. Most cuts of beef will taste the same, and have the same texture when cooked well done. This pretty much eliminates the whole reason to go for a prime cut.

I'm fucking obsessive about my burgers. 6oz each - I use a digital food scale. THat's .375 of a pound.

I've seen people eat theirs still cold in the middle and not even all the way brown on the outside.

Yep. If I'm only cooking for a couple people, I've started doing them in cast iron. I let the empty pan pre-heat to 450 in the oven, then I throw it on a burner on high for about 10 minutes. They get such a tasty crust on them it's ridiculous.

You should have punched April right in the ovary.
