I think that had more to do with villanova preventing that than UNC not doing it on their own. Nova had a great game plan. If UNC shoots it like they normally do from 3, Nova wins by double digits.

Yes, great gameplan.

Similar to the one they used against Kansas with their size.

He floated behind the guy with possession of the ball and put himself in the spot where he could step into a 3. And credit to Arcidiacono for clearing the guy after he gave up the ball. Yes, the defense was awful but they didn't want to give up something at the rack or a short pull-up j that Villanova proved all game they can hit.

And the reason I bring up the other shot is I don't think you'd be calling it a complete prayer if NC wins. It was a great shot but a pump 3 with the body contorted? Very low percentage. Did a great job of getting back to a decent shooting position while contorting himself.

It was a warm up, shoot around three. There was nothing great about trailing the play and being left open. That's just my two cents. He made a shot, but didn't work to get himself open. That doesn't take away from the game or his shot. It's just different than saying he worked to get himself open.

I think everyone watching the game knew it was really lucky it went in. It takes skill, but no matter how much skill you have that shot dropping requires a lot of luck.

The pressure clearly hurt unc, but this shouldn't have been a surprise. I only watched nova a couple of times(including) the oklahoma game and it was that same gameplan every time. I honestly thought this game was over at the half... which unc coming out w/the lead, I just figured they'd pound the ball down low like did against cuse and that would be it. Instead, the ball movement was poor and they continued w/long range shots.

I thought the most underrated coaching moment of the game was when Wright brought Jenkins back late in the first half.

He gave them a quick boost and some much needed points to keep that from being a double digit halftime lead.

Many coaches would not have taken that risk.

It was a great shot. He didn't even really have time to plant his feet. I don't think the average player makes that shot 1 out of 10 times w/the game on the line and the clock running out. As for not working to get himself open... where else would he be?? I know there was less than 5 seconds to think about defense, but zero credit to unc for ignoring nova's best shooter.

Many times that inbounder doesn't run all the way down the floor. Look at Tyus Edney's famous dash. I don't think the dude even made half court.

Nope I disagree because UNC shot 32% in the 2nd half so it even out, plus throw in the turn overs that UNC usually dont make.

It was a well designed play. They should have trapped earlier but they didn't. But it was a little bit more than just jogging down and taking the 3. The clear to get him the wide open look was pretty key.

Part of the problem is the guy who was (apparently) supposed to guard him was also the UNC rim protector.

Don't forget they didn't cover the inbounder either. UNC was far more concerned with Archie pulling a tyus edney than Jenkins getting an NBA 3 off. Which is fair. I've seen a lot better looks not fall in that situation than the look Jenkins got.

There was a lot more luck in the Paige shot to tie the game than the shot Jenkins made to win the game.

True.. and it is rare to see a pass made with that little bit of time on the clock.

Please watch the replay. He jogged down the court and shot a three. Yes, arcidiacano gave it to him in a good spot and was able to screen off Meeks and Berry but they weren't guarding him in the first place. He literally jogged down the court and shot a three.

The inbounder was the shooter. He was never guarded.

It was a very set, open, clean look he got for the win. That doesn't take away from the shot. It's still impressive to make it from that distance in that situation. But we're giving him a ton of credit for making a difficult shot. I think we'd all be pleased if we knew our team had that shot for the title.

That's what it looks like when you have the perfect college PG running the show. He does almost every little thing right all day long.

He didn't just "jog down". Arcidiacano obviously expected him there trailing the play. It was a nice play and he did exactly what he was supposed to do.

However you have to think of the situation... Your own guy running in front of you, two UNC defenders charging at you, time about to expire, National Championship Game, game winning shot... You still deserve a ton of credit for making it

This is true but you can't take anything away from Jenkins shot either
