Lots of points tomorrow so lets keep our fingers crossed. Don't think we have any heavy weight wrestlers so that could play a factor.

No Hvywght qualifieed for us, but we have our big 5 rolling and that's the key. Need some wrestleback points from anyone in consos to pad it. We still have 6 in championship bracket and 2 in consos, still set up better than anyone to win. If conaway can win another match or even 2 in Champ bracket, it would be huge. The Big 5 (Nico, Zain, Nolf, Nickal and Mac) holding serve and doing what they are supposed to should be plenty to get PSU the title. I think just the amount of bonus points the team has scored already would place as a top 10 team by itself

Kilmara losing hurts Okie st, Gant losing makes the path to Nolf-IMar 3 pretty clear as well

Zain with the huge pin made our 2pt lead over Iowa go to 11pts that was MASSIVE. Now just need Iowa Sorensen to lose to Big Red and that will be awesome.

PSU starting to pull away now, gap is 14 or more now after Nolf and Bo majors and a Geno win in consos.

Both heading to the finals and we got a 20pt lead over Iowa. We got McIntosh wrestling next vs Iowa. Really could help us separate more from Iowa.

1. PSU 107.5
2. Iowa 77.5
3. Ok St 72.5
4. OSU 61
5. Va Tech 57

Va Tech and Okie State only teams with any mathematical chance to catch PSU. One of your guys, Zavatsky is a local kid. Glad to see he's doing well.

As for PSU, We Are....taking that trophy and aren't giving it back for a while :-)

I believe we have 6 guys still wrestling.

Not sure what happened to our 125. He was #2 in the nation and just kind of fell apart in the last 2 meets. I had expected him to make AA (which would have given us 7) :noidea:

On another site I was checking, it looks like we could finish as low as 7, as high as 2, so I'm not sure you need to worry about us catching you. Next year might be a bit different though :D

Yeah, Dance lost to Terao, who Nico just beat. Dance actual beat Nico earlier in year. I think if Okie St or VT pin out in every match and PSU gets zero points we could lose.

Haha, next year PSU will be even better. They are redshirting some studs, our Heavyweight who was a top 10 overall recruit, but was hurt all year will be back and we get the next super star recruit (Mark Hall who has destroyed the top guys in college while being junior/senior in HS), and 2 other top 10 overall kids this year . Cael has it rolling and that trophy is coming to Happy Valley to stay for a while again. :D

VT is doing some very nice things with their program and its good to see some ACC schools stepping up against the usual suspects ...its always been a Big 10/Big 12 race. Good for the sport to see some new faces step up and compete for top spots. Good luck, hopefully VT can jump into that #2 spot today. Iowa can't fall far enough for me:suds:

Congrats PSU. :suds: Never doubted PSU was going to get worst than 1st, just wanted it.

What sucks for us Iowa fans, or any non PSU fans, is that PSU is young and still dominating recruiting.

That 170 pounder (6x state champion) is a beast.

Thank you. This is the making of hopefully another dynasty. Iowa had a great team this year. Congrats to you guys and best of luck to you in the future. :suds:

Nick Megaludis (PSU) won the 125lbs match and is a National Champion. Funny interview afterwards. He was either concussed or just so excited after the win that he was mumbling and couldn'tput together a sentence. Best thing was he said something like "I bet this is the worst interview ever". It was hilarious. Congrats to Nick on his win.

ESPN showing at bottom of screen that we have won the Team National Championships :suds: I guess Nick's win made it impossible for any team to catch us now. God this team is going to be scary especially since we have all those talented recruits and freshman.

A little BS that Illinois Martinez won the 157lb match against PSU's Nolf 6-5 when he should have called for a stall but he did get the fall in the final seconds for the win. Hats off to Martinez and Nolf I believe will be back next year and he will be dominating and now driven.

Damn another loss and this time to a fuckeye. Congrats to their wrestler who was a 11 seed and did great all throughout the tournament and I think he is freshman. Tough kid. Luckily we already won the team championship because we haven't done well in the finals. Still accomplishment in getting there but just wish had more success. Still Penn State proud of this team 5 championships in 6years and appears to be more in the years to come :suds: We Are...Penn State!!!

Here's what I thought of PSU wrestler's (or other matches I want to comment on) Finals matches.

125 - Megaludis vs Gilman (Iowa)
Megaludis was the better wrestler first two periods and then literally stalled (ran away) the 3rd. He led 5-1 with riding time heading into 3rd, so it was more strategy than being out of shape. I still don't like it when wrestlers do that, not even Iowa wrestlers. I would rather see controlled tie ups. Megaludis is better than Gilman but just didn't like his strategy.

141 - Heil (OKST) vs Meredith (WYO)
I got very upset with the refs in this one. There was one moment when they were in a scramble situation from neutral position and they called a stalemate. There was no takedown, but Meredith was in a dominant position. Also, there was a moment in the 3rd where Meredith was taking shots and Heil wasn't, Meredith took a drop step to set up a shot (again, no shot by Heil) and Meredith got called for stalling.

149 - Zetherford vs Sorensen (Iowa)
Zetherford was a beast. He really is the only PSU finals wrestler that impressed me. He dominated from start to finish. He didn't run away in the 3rd period (in fact, he got a few takedowns to extend the lead). I was truly impressed.

157 - Nolf vs Martinez (Illinois)
I like Martinez more, but I have nothing against Nolf. I wanted a good match and got it. I must have been watching a different match than you guys. I don't think either of the wrestlers were stalling. It was a fun match that ended with an incredibly quick duck-under by Martinez. I was impressed with Nolf, knowing how good Martinez is, but he didn't wow me like Zetherford did. This was probably the 2nd most exciting match behind HWT. Refs ruined 141 for me.

174 - Nickal vs Martin (Ohio State)
Nickal gave up. He is easily the better technical wrestler than Martin is. All Martin has is throws. He is great at them though. When it worked and Martin took the lead, Nickal basically gave up. He was super sloppy after that and had no fight in him. Maybe it is being a freshman, but still disappointing. I actually wanted Nickal to win because Iowa did not want tOSU to win a match, but this put them above Iowa.

197 - McIntosh vs Cox (Mizzou)
I like both wrestlers and had no reason to cheer for either. Cox is a beast, but McIntosh was too intimidated. He stalled a lot because of Cox's power. That last 20 seconds, I figured Cox would bulrush McIntosh to try to get the stall point, but he got a takedown. Cox was the better wrestler. I was actually disappointed from the match in general. It was like a boring HWT match.

285 - Gwiazdowski (NCST) vs Snyder (Ohio State)
2x NCAA Champ with an 88-match win streak vs World Champion. What a match on paper and it was definitely built up...and didn't disappoint. One of the most entertaining HWT matches I have seen in a long time. The 197 match was more like a HWT match and this was more like a 197 match. Snyder is fearless shooting on a guy 30 pounds heavier, and it paid off in the end. I thought after Gwiazdowski had 2 takedowns, Snyder wasn't coming back. This deserves to be highlighted on SportsCenter, but might just get mentioned.
