I have been thinking Barnette will become our closer at some point this season. I think he is going to be the biggest surprise in the pen this year.

I wonder if the difference is one of semantics. Maybe the 12 month date is when pitchers recovering are to the point they would normally be to start ST and the 14 month timeframe is the norm for how long it takes to appear in a big league game.

It seems Evan is making this into a bigger thing than it actually is. It would be nice to add some depth in the upper levels of the minors though.

At some pint we could trade a reliever and flip what we get for a catcher I guess.

No, the deadline is the draft I believe. I think that date is June 9th.

How are Keith Law and Baseball America looking at things differently?

Baseball America has the Astros as the 2nd best farm system but Law has them ranked as the 17the best? What's the discrepancy here?

Rangers are 7th and 9th respectively

Just curious bc I've never seen such a wide gap before

NEW YORK -- New York Mets pitcher Jenrry Mejia made baseball history Friday, becoming the first player to be permanently suspended by Major League Baseball for performance-enhancing drug use.

MLB announced the suspension Friday, saying that Mejia tested positive for Boldenone and that the right-hander also is permanently suspended from playing minor league baseball.
