Why do some of you care so much about whether or not others like Lebron?

Seriously.

People want to bash Kobe and talk about how he criticizes teammates, mean mugs them, he's an asshole, etc., etc. Lakers fans pretty much react with: Yep, he's a prick. He's also a certain first ballot Hall of Famer who had a huge role in bringing 5 championships to the franchise. So it's all good."

People want to bash Jordan and talk about how he punched teammates, berated them, gambled, he's an asshole, etc., etc. Bulls fans pretty much say: "Yep, he's prick. He's also the best that ever played, was a first ballot Hall of Famer and was largely responsible for the Bulls 6 championships. So it's all good."

People criticize Lebron and within minutes, some Cavs fans and Lebroniacs are on here saying you're just a hater, you don't know him, he's a great guy, it was taken out of context, etc., etc.

So what's the deal? Why do you care what others think of him? Why do some of you feel the need to defend him against every criticism or perceived sleight?

Some of you who so vigorously defend him now, were slamming him as a traitor and booing him like he was Santa Clause at an Eagles game just last year.

I don't think some of you would defend your Mom's like you defend Lebron.

The Cav fans on here seem legit....But for the majority Cav fans that I see on TV, I find it hilarious how they defend LeBron when just a few years ago they about burned down his hometown with hate. But somehow that was all forgotten the moment he returned. Just like the Cavs Owner who berated LeBron when he left.

Cavs fans have been through A LOT. The city of Cleveland has been through A LOT for sports. I got to hand it to the fans for stickening around and giving support, and they deserved the title in their city more than LeBron deserved a title. Wish they could win won with him elsewhere.

But I do find it funny how they defend the hell out of the guy, but a year ago they were cursing his name.

I personally can't stand the guy and his arrogance. But i'll gladly admit he's a phenomenal player. Top 10 all time easily I would say.

But he's also the biggest loser in the NBA. No fire, no determination, no killer instinct.

I agree with all of this except the no fire part. he has fire, but its a useless burning fire without the killer instinct.

Should have been more clear! Compared to the all-time greats like MJ, Magic, Bird and Kobe that is.

Yes.

If only LeBron never went to Miami to chicken shit out of his hometown to go win some rings with all-stars he would have a different legacy.

He could actually be in the conversation for GOAT. Spend his entire career with one team, eventually get a title or two.

Now he's just a club-hopper. Taking the easiest route!

I'm not convinced that Lebron lacks a killer instinct or will to win. I think that in his own way, Lebron wants to win as bad as Kobe or MJ.

Imo, the difference is that Lebron wants to be liked by everybody and wants to make everybody happy. So, he will pass/defer to teammates in situations where Kobe or MJ would take it upon themselves to carry the team.

He won't publicly criticize his teammates when Kobe or MJ would to light a fire under them.

MJ and Kobe figured, you may not like me or the way I lead, but you're going to love that championship ring you get to wear because you were on the same team as me. I don't think Lebron looks at it that way.

Exactly. Had he stayed in Cleveland this entire time, even if he never won a title he would be up there with the greats. Malone, Stockton, Miller, Payton never won titles but are listed as legends.

AND if he ever did win a title with Cleveland, my goodness, the legacy that would create.

but alas, he threw all of that away with "The Decision"

Could be attributed to the era of which LeBron was grown up in.

And then the decision to come back to cleveland.

Almost like he said "I'm done with this one now, time to move on again"

It was a lame ass attempt to try and save his legacy, because like TF12 stated, he wants to be liked by everyone...

IMO, coming back to Cleveland was a :L moment. Should have just accepted his villain role and stayed in Miami to win a few more rings.

Now, I almost root for the guy to go to Lakers, Boston, New York, Chicago, or back to Miami to team up with major franchises and all-star teams to win another ring. would be hilarious.

Or go to Houston. Imagine the hatred the Rockets would generate. Howard (maybe as disliked as LeBron) Harden (bugs the shit out of me) Beasley (worse than Delledova) and LeBron?

BOOM!

The youth these days can't handle criticism. It's that "participation award" mentality.

I used to care more, but now I just care about him winning in Cleveland regardless of his legacy. He is 2-4 in Finals and that is what MOST are going to look at, not what he did to get some of those teams there.

It sucks that he gets bashed but pretty much expected now. Some things tick me off but seeing what he did in this series it is hard to bash him. He did all he could do.

We get it Lebron is everywhere and it is 24/7 Lebron, but he is the best. I get sick of hearing about him eventually as well.
I just think sometimes the haters are more obsessed than his fans lol

It's a reflection of the Player.

Lebron wants to be liked just as badly.
