Ok. When the Chargers cheated and applied a sticky substance to the ball they got a negligible fine. When 2 teams cheated and heated the balls on the sidelines, they got a nominal fine, as well. There's your NFL precedent concerning doctoring the ball in the NFL.

The NFL ruled that the sticky towels gave them no competitive advantage(They also banned those towels forever, but I guess that is irrelevant). Deflating footballs isn't an advantage, either. They destroyed the Colts with the "proper" footballs in the 2nd half of the AFCCG. They won the fucking Super Bowl with "proper" footballs. If you want to believe that Brady is better off beating a woman or failing a drug test than this crap, I'm not going to change your mind.

It's not deflection. It's called "precedent". These are the only other "ball tampering" cases I could find in the NFL. "Deflection" would be if I insisted on talking about the weather or the Knicks. Get it right.
