Don't you fucking dear take a deal with the NFL. I will be so pissed off. This prick Roger has made your team look like absolute shit ass cheaters with his witch hunt and bull shit fines. You took one for the league for Spygate, and look how that turned out. He also suspended you QB and made him look like a fucking liar when nothing was proven!

Taking a deal does nothing to protect the Patriots image, it only hurts it. You want people to think your and RoRo are not buddies, drill his ass in court. Let TB take him to court also. Take this shit to court and let all the facts out, you got nothing to hide, then prove it. Taking a deal with this ass clown makes you look like you got something to hide. Also the NFL once again gets away with total corrupt bull shit.

If you are innocent and you care about your teams image and the fans that stick up for you and the Patriots on a daily bases, you will not settle, you will not let this asshole brand this team again.

So Robert, what matters more, your team/fans/QB, or YOUR money??

GAME TIME!!!!

What if the team is not innocent? What if there is more dirt that can come out once this gets in front of a judge? What do you think he should do then? Fight the NFL for his delusional fans & further sully the team? Or take a negotiated deal & let this story die?

If they are guilty then so be it. I'll survive. Either way the public image of this team is set. Fuck em, bring it on!

Kraft is a very successful businessman outside of football. He understands brand image and he has to know his football brand has taken a significant beating over a piss of air and how this has been handled by the league office, Goofdell's minions (i.e. Kensil) and the infamous Wells report. The only way to get this fixed is in a court of law with all evidence out on the table and the Pats (and Brady) being found completely innocent of all accusations!

This back room dealing is not Roger Goodell's idea. This is the NFL owners telling the league office that they don't want to push deflategate into the courts.

There are two things at play here for the other owners. (1) Kraft single-handedly saved the NFL from a long dragged out labor fight with the NFLPA. Johnathan Kraft put together the CBA and the both the owners and players have profited. (2) Robert and Johnathan Kraft literally crafted the national TV contracts that have made every owner and the league filthy rich.

The owners know that the NFL's history is court is horrible. They always hire a big, expensive law team that costs about $5000 an hour and ends up agreeing to a nut crushing agreement. The absolute last thing the owners want to see is Robert Kraft's legal team tearing up the league by making all of the little dirty league secrets public. The minute integrity is mentioned the gloves will be off and the owners know it's a fight that can't be won.

My guess is that the league will reduce the fine to $100,000 and take away a 6th round pick in 2016.

They can't touch the Brady case because the NFLPA is involved but they can have a separate back door deal. Big problem there is that no one wants to look bad and the NFLPA will make hay unless the suspension is revoked. If that happens then the league "lied" and the "integrity argument gets shot in the foot.

I want to see Goofdell gets his nuts shoved down his throat. Then go after Kensil.

Let's first see how these back-door talks go before we say we want this to end up in court. Let's work someone out without the courts so it will just be over the done with. (Though this never will truly be "done.")

All that is going to do is to continue the 'buddy-buddy' relationship (perceived or not) between Kraft and Goofdell. That needs to be over and done with!

True.... but perhaps this could actually get Brady's suspension overturned without having to draw this out even further. After-all, most Pats fans just want this to go away.

I think this will get reduced two games, that's about it.

The Brady thing is a separate issue and has to be handled by the NFLPA thru the appeal process. If Goofdell doesn't budge then just like his other decisions, it goes to court and Goofdell gets slapped in the nuts again.

The problem is that there is no real legal basis for the team to go to court. Teams that have tried in the past have failed. Brady is subject to a CBA, so he has recourse in the courts whereas the Patriots as an organization really do not. I'm sure the Krafts don't care all that much about the fine (1 million dollars for a multi-billionaire isn't all that much) or even the 2017 4th rounder. Any deal has to involve returning the first-round pick. If the team can get that, they should just move on.

Just eagerly awaiting the seeds of demise to start sprouting in the league office.

In the mean time: IMO: All this back channel talk is probably negotiating a settlement for the team's penalty - else he will appeal or worse (note: Al Davis was also from Massachusetts). Up for discussion: Kraft will get the monetary penalty reduced (this is important to him if you read the King interview) and the draft picks will be subject to negotiation in exchange for him playing along. The other owners are leery over what Kraft will do, and that will be the leverage that Kraft will try to use to his advantage.

I can't see Brady accepting any suspension as far as this has gone on? Natyrally, I could be wrong. But with all the innocent posturing I believe it is all or nothing. Brady goes to court if this isn't reduced to 0 games. That's the only way he can "claim" his preceived innocence.
Even though the Brady appeal is an NFLPA issue. I could certainley see Kraft and Goofy working something out. Goofball goes to the Brady appeal and offers x,y,z. Case closed we're onto Pittsburgh.

another defeat for Goofdell. Sweet. But shouldn't the owners be getting tired of this scenario? Groundhog Day anyone?

Even IF Brady gets his games reduced to 0 he still will be perceived as a cheater and a liar, so his name will never been "cleared" regardless of whether or not a suspension is reduced or upheld.

he won't and neither will the Pats, which I believe was the Colts end game all along. Jealous mother fuckers in Indianapolis.

Well Kraft gave in to the collective good.

Now it's time for Goodell to publicly reflect on the debacle. But don't hold your breath.

Smug fuck will back the bus over Kraft again, you watch.
Giving in for the betterment of the league was a mistake.

Hard pill to swallow for Kraft, he genuinely feels his team was wronged. Perhaps something was worked out with Brady's appeal to prevent a rather messy court case afterwards.
