I'm reading all this excitement surrounding Justin Verlander and I don't get why people think Verlander will bounce back. he hasn't been good for two years, and last year he was really bad. I think he's past the point of being a good pitcher.

lets see.....injury...operation... recovery....

Lions have won zero playoff games, division titles, and Super Bowls with Matt Stafford. Maybe they should let him go.

lions could have got a deal don't last year with Suh for less money. But Suh wanted to leave.he didn't want to stay in Detroit. he sure makes dolphins a lot better...brady better watch out for that bull rush now.

lions got a replacement now for Suh. guy from Baltimore..gave up 2 draft picks..lions make a bad situation even worst......same ol lions.. at least packers, bears, and Vikings didn't get better..yet..
what a wild first couple hours in the first day for the NFL

Tigers should get rid of Miggy. They've won zero WS titles with him. Clearly he is to blame.

The Tigers need to get rid of Dave Dombrowski. I can't imagine how maddening it must be to be a Tigers fan and have an AMAZING owner willing to spend big bucks, but have that owner hand those bucks to a drooling half-wit that he lets run the front office.

There's another one that hasn't won shit with the Tigers. Trade him. He clearly lacks the heart and TWTW.

I would. The only people who would expect Verlander to be the #4 player in MLB are Tigers fan boys.

The guy with a 7.20 ERA and 0-3 record in the World Series. Yawn.

I'm not gonna go all Dougie on ya and predict a season for Verlander that is Top-10 worthy in fantasy, but I think he will be good. 16-17 wins, ERA back down in the mid- to upper-3's, WHIP back down to about 1.20, walks down, strikeouts up. Where that puts him in fantasy rankings, I don't know. It certainly ain't #4, but it ain't #181 either.

The thing about the type of injury JV had, it costs you both velocity and location, because it forces you to change your mechanics. Pitchers throw with the trunk of the body more than the casual fan knows. And I don't think the fan outside Detroit, who doesn't watch this guy go to work every fifth day, knows the type of competitor JV is. You look at his abhorrent WHIP and ERA last year, and yet he still went 15-12. Yeah, he pitched for a team that was Top 2 in both BA and runs, but he also battled. He still logged over 200 innings for the eighth straight season. There were several games where his location failed him early, he'd give up 4 or 5 runs in the first two innings, yet still stayed on the hill into the 7th or 8th inning with no further damage. So forgive us Detroit slappies if we aren't as harsh on the guy as the fantasy geeks are.
