The question isn't whether a loss here costs them a 1 seed, because it guarantees they won't get a 1. The question is whether or not Arizona jumps Gonzaga for the 2 seed in the west, assuming both win out and also assuming Nova and Wisconsin win out. The head to head win for Arizona (along with two wins against Utah in the last two weeks of the season assuming a W over them in the P12 tourney final) and the even-more-garbage-than-the-P12-garbage-that-is-known-as-the-WCC means Gonzaga doesn't deserve to be ahead of us.

Kentucky gets one........i think virginia gets one

SO that leaves duke, zona, wisconsin, nova for the other two........right now if things hold sway id give it to wisconsin and nova......with duke getting the first #2 seed.....but thats just me.....zona could get one too

No way Wisconsin or Nova deserve a 1 over Duke unless they lose more than just in the ACC Tournament championship to UVA. The dookies have racked up quality win after quality win and have 3 losses in the toughest conference in America. Compare that to Wisky and Nova (and Arizona, for that matter) and none of them have the resume that Duke has. And I fucking HATE saying that.

And I hope I will be spared the "Nova has lots of RPI top 50 wins" from whoever has been spewing that garbage, because they have 0 elite wins on their resume. Wisconsin is the same. Arizona barely has any. None of them deserve a 1 over Duke unless they lose to UNC AND then follow it up by losing to UVA in the acc tourney.

As a non-football Catholic school, Gonzaga is always welcome in the Big East.

They just have to set up a satellite campus in Wilmington, Delaware.

This. They struggled with San Francisco and St. Marys and didn't run away from Pacific and Pepperdine like they should've. The eye test just really hasn't been there the past few weeks. They'll likely be out west for the first weekend, but that's not nearly as beneficial as being out west all tournament.

Wisconsin has the same amount of losses as Duke who beat them head to head AT Wisconsin, and who has MANY more elite wins. How in the world do you put Wisconsin ahead of Duke??

Also, let me tell you what I think about those teams before you respond:

I think Wisconsin AND Arizona are better than Duke. But the resume matters, and based off of that neither of those teams deserves to be ahead of Duke as of this moment.

Sometimes teams get hurt by the lack of quality in their conference, and this year both the PAC and B10 are down.

They do have better wins than Wisky, but their two losses against Miami and NC State hurt more than Wisky's loss to Rutgers without Kaminsky. Will Duke need to win the ACC to get that #1 seed, if UVA gets to the title game, and Wisky, Nova, and AZ win out? Maybe their wins getting to the title game will be enough?

I do think Duke will need to win out. Only because I think Nova and Zona will both win out as well. If Nova and Zona win out and Duke losses, you can pencil Nova as the #1 in the South and Zona as the #1 out west. Unless UVA somehow losses more than 1 game. Then Nova will be the #1 in the East assuming they win out.
