I know, but that does not change the fact that a coke with a slice is pure heaven.

I love Coke but haven't had it in years and can't ever imagine drinking sodas again. It's liquid death. I got my kids off of it years ago too. We only drink water.
It's almost impossible to go through a week and not have to settle for a soda at some point. But other than water and sugar, there's absolutely nothing in soda that the body can use. It's a shit load of empty calories.
I've pretty much switched to anything with antioxidants...OJ, coffee, tea, grape juice. Been buying pom juice and some other all nautral fruit drinks as well. I don't seem to drink near as much liquids this way and it's become easier to keep my weight down.
The best bennie is not getting sick as much and no snow blindness. The anti-Os are taking charge.
I am going to sound like a metrosexual hipster, but I quit carbonated soda two weeks ago in a drive to shed a few pounds and I have never felt better. Very well could be that I'm drinking more water now instead, but after drinking 1-2 soda's a day I'm already down 3 pounds in just 10 days. I've done nothing but cut out cokes. Still drink coffee.

I do enjoy black coffee in the morning.coffee is fine. as a matter of fact there was an article yesterday that said even 3-5 cups a day (I only have 2) is ok and can prevent heart disease and diabetes, but there is a caveat to that. That doesn't include coffee laden down with sugar and creamers.
