Plenty of coaches out there. It's just a matter of how much you want to pay. Their salary should be on an incentive basis. Everything that The one complains about should be in the contract. There should be a Stew incentive also. If you go 9-3, you come back the following year. For every win that is below the 9 mark, you lose a year off your contract. For every win above the 9 mark, you add another year to your contract only if you win a major Bowl game. If you win a NC, you get your salary plus a bonus that is equal to the highest paid college football coach. Of course, recruiting is strictly optional as the HC should be able to win with what he has because all it takes is motivation, coaching kids up, and a good conditioning program. At no time can a recruit be above a 3 star rated player. A 4 star can be added to the team only if he goes through a Prima Donna test developed by The one.

I don't give a shit about pretend championships, I care about competing in games against teams I care about. We are now a member of a league that IMO, we do not belong in, playing teams I care nothing about. That league again, IMO, is the one that will fade away in time. My beef with Holgorsen is that the team looks no better in game 12 than in game one, I think the improvement over last year buys him another year, but I also don't think the other teams in this league are as good as last year, that tempers that improvement some.

Slaton, what is infuriating to me is watching us beat OSU last year, beat Baylor this year, play straight up with Bama, TCU, OU, KSU, but listen to fans make old tired lame excuses about losses to KU, IAST, TT, etc. When you play toe to toe with top teams, but lose to teams that should be wins, the issue ain't depth or talent, it is motivation.

This year, we lost to none of the teams you mentioned. We beat KU, IAST and TT.

Since WVU doesn't get 4 and 5 star recruits by the dozen, the lack of upperclassmen seriously hurts the team's competitiveness.

Indeed, you've posted this before, the rate of attrition at WVU has been the same for years, and is in line with most other schools, some coaches win, and some lose........Our current coaches can get the team up to play Oklahoma or Alabama, but cant get them to get excited to play the "lesser" schools............

Good teams get better through the course of the season, good coaches teach the younger kids as the year goes forward. THAT is the point, that our team can beat Baylor, beat TCU in every facet EXCEPT the scoreboard, but lose to TAM, and Texas, which were not great or even good teams this year. The lack of talent BS is wearing thin....

I can totally understand your complaint if his guys were 4th and 5th year players but how can you complain about production from freshman, redshirt freshman, and sophomores? There may be a few juniors and JUCO's too but for the most part, a lot of DH's recruits are pretty young. I know bigger schools can get production out of 1st and 2nd year players but they also get the top notch talent too.

All these guys had to start playing a lot earlier than they had to because of the lack of depth and talent left behind and have turned into pretty good players.

Half of them were seniors this year...........yet they were too young? Are they supposed to not play until after they graduate? WOW
