Coach in his 40s > coach in his 60s

I read a very interesting article from some espn reporter a Couple of days ago ( i can't Remember who) but the article was rather interesting in regards of what it said which was basically Florida has already started the search. .. has at least 3 people in mind and are CURRENTLY coaching. . The reg season will be over and a few of the bowl games will have been played. . That is a reason for a mid December announcement. .
It also said that the way these things work is that friends and co workers are usually contacted to see if the coach is really interested in the job in the first place .. if the ad department gets a resounding no then they keep looking..
Makes sense to me. . I just wish they would hurry up because i feel like we are losing out on recruiting and NSD is not far from Dec and that's important

Thanks was wondering if had heard anything.

Stalled due to the $7.5M buyout clause in his contract with CSU. Foley is such a dork. Why go after a B-List guy with such a huge buyout? Now you either pony-up ridiculous money or look like a dork not getting your mediocre man.

I agree that the buyout shouldn’t be our anchor. If he can’t sign a less binding contract than what he did, he’s a noob.

I don’t like how these continual failures by Foley show up in the press. This is just like last time with Muschamp, CLEARLY not our first or even second choice. Foley makes Florida look weak. There I said it. You must always negotiate from a position of strength. Always. In his case that means use the power of the DRAW of Florida to precede you before you even walk in the room. You have to walk in that room like you are Bear Bryant or Steve Spurrier and know that they know you own the joint. Foley has never impressed me with that kind of mojo, and the proof is in the pudding..........

I don’t have a good feeling about this T-Jet. I do not have a good feeling about this.

i agree. if Florida hires McElwain and has to pick up his 7.5 mil buyout, and Muschamp doesn’t get hired elsewhere, the UAA is on the hook for nearly $14 million.
