A thread for pet peeves or NFL-related annoyances.

I'll start off:

Another thing wrong with today's societal thinking: Jim Irsay, Indianapolis Colts owner, gets game ball after win over Cincinnati Bengals - ESPN

I don't mean to say he should be chastised or demonized, but a game ball because he came back after a league suspension for driving under the influence? This isn't a win over cancer. This is similar to how I've heard people say that Vick is a great human being, exceptional. I understand he stopped killing dogs, repented, did his time, and shouldn't be demonized the rest of his life, but not killing dogs anymore isn't exactly exceptionally good. One might say he's given to charity, but he did that before and during his dog killing days. What makes him celebrated? I don't kill dogs either, where's my badge? ;)

What grinds your gears? (Other than references to Family Guy.)

Faking a spike like GB did last week.

Look, I never liked that rule to begin with. It's basically allowing intentional grounding. OK, so if that's the case, if a QB goes to the line to set the team with a spike the ball signal, they should be REQUIRED to spike it. Complete bullshit to then pull up and run a play.

Players that do very little for most of the game, suddenly make a good play and dance and prance around for 15 seconds.

the play by Rodgers was being praised by the media but it was extremely stupid. if the receiver doesn't break a tackle the game is over

Be thankful you haven't gone through the number of QB's the Bills have since Jim Kelly retired. At least Schaub got you to the playoffs.

My guess would be to reward him from staying on the wagon through all of it? I know what you mean though.

Chris Collinsworthless and his talking grinds my gears. Anyone who makes a play seems to be one of his favorite, hardest working players in the NFL. He also seems to enjoy breaking down a great play that just happened as if he predicted it was going to happen and told us before it happened.

Is it premature to call the claims of Hoyer being Cleveland's future premature? I mean a couple close losses, a few close wins, and a blowout of the Steelers and it seemed those hoping for a feel good story jumped the gun like those who talked about Cousins causing a QB controversy with RGIII in Washington. I mean, I'm not saying he won't be there for a long time, as I'm not one to count out competent QBs, but I heard so much about his success when they were 3-2! Let him get more than 1 game over .500 before trading Manziel (whom I have no real opinion of). I know Hoyer was 6-2 if you include last year, but so were others (not on Cleveland's squad, though).

Yeah, I didn't know where to put this and I didn't want to start a new thread.
