Congrats to Melvin. Another stellar game. Looks to be on his way to a 2,000 yard season. Pretty impressive since he only had 38 yards against W. Illinois. Follows that up with 253, 181, 259, and now 175+ today. Gordon is the best back in the land.

I've said it thousands of times with this O-line all we need is a RB with a 4.4 40 time and he will gain 2K plus easy. Everywhere I see clay, white, Ball, PJ Hill I see miles of room but they're slow and can't finish. Gordon not only has the speed but has excelent vision and decent cuts. He should win RB of the year award.

He deserves the Heisman Trophy. He has the best stats in America. The guy has been healthy for 4.6 games and has over 1,000 yards in those. And sadly, he is the offense. It's not like he has a passing game to keep defenses honest, but he still is thriving.

Although numbers are impressive for MG he still really hasn't faced or dominated a true defense and mostly terrible run D's. LSU actually has their worst run D they've had in eons. Also since it's a team award we know he has no chance since we will not be in the top 4 or compete for a decent bowl. It's rare to win the award without being in the NC and even more rare if not in a BCS game. Again, if he stays healthy he should win the offensive player of the year award.

If you take out our game, Northwestern's defense has 2.95 YPC, good for 11th in the country. That's pretty good. All Melvin did was go for 259 yards on 27 carries.

Maybe he won't win, but Melvin should. He is absolutely the best player in America.
