Locking both Morris twins up to 4 year deals for a combined total of 52 million.

Great value imo. They wanted to play together and took a pay cut from what they could get if they went to different teams separately. They both play better with each other and I'm very glad to have them back for at least the next 4 years.

I had a feeling it was in the works. If the numbers are right, it sounds like Morris x2 was true to their word about taking less to stay together. $6-7 mil a season for Kieff is far less than he would get on the open market. And his value will just increase now that the majority of PF minutes will be is his. Funny thing is that he will making about the same as Frye.

Marcus' salary is probably a little more than he would get on the open market. But together, an avg of $13 mil a season sounds like a bargain. Both of their is salaries are $3 mil this year. And their QA for 16 would have been $4 mil. I can see their salaries working out to be close to $4(16), $5(17), $6(18), & $7.5(19).

Now we just need to lay the groundwork for Dragic's new deal & the core of the team will be set for the next 4 years.

Mark Stein was a little off with his individual numbers. The $52 mil split is $32 for Kieff & $20 for Marcus, both over 4 years starting in 15/16.

These values seem about right. 8 per for Kieff and 5 mil per Marcus.

I think Kieff would've gotten more in the open market.

I will ask again....what is the goal for this team? To be a 5-7 seed and maybe make the 2nd round?

Great bargain when you remember the type of deal a guy like Derrick Favors got.

Do these guys have separation anxiety or something?

I get the Twin bond thing.

But, damn...:noidea:

Probably just to take baby steps.

Nobody expected them to compete last Season.

If they keep Dragic and get/develop a solid Center this year or next, they will be a near lock for the post season for years to come.

But, championship caliber?

No.

To be fair, outside of the Thunder and Spurs, nobody else is a true contender in the West unless there are major injuries on other teams or they just catch lightning in a bottle/goes balls to the walls on an insane playoff run like the 2011 Mavs did.

I like what they are doing.

Same college, same Nba team, identical tattoos, identical contracts.

Damn....

They both really excelled when paired together with the Suns.

I hope neither ever get traded.

This year, sure. But they're locking up a solid core right now. Still have tons of picks and cap space to use along with depth they already have as trade bait to land a star via trade.

What do you expect them to do? They went after LeBron and Melo this summer. They failed. So they went out and signed two very solid guards in Bledsoe and Thomas and extended two young role players.

Please tell me what your master plan would be to make this team a contender?

It's not a master plan but I would try to acquire a top 5 pf/c instead of giving money to twins & probably eventually plumlee. You put a cousins on this roster and they're a title contender imo

And that's exactly what they're setting themselves up to do. They can trade for someone like Horford or Cousins or a big of that caliber pretty easily. Warren, Green, Ennis, Len, LAL's 1st round pick, MIN's 1st round pick and their ability to eat salaries make them a very intriguing trade partner imo.

Hell, even Bledsoe could still be moved if needed.

How about Monroe?

I don't know what the Suns cap looks like this summer.

But, Al Jefferson, Brook Lopez, Marc Gasol, Tyson chandler, DeAndre Jordan and a few more bigs will be free agents this Summer.

Good deal. Everyone knows their basketball powers diminish if the two are ever separated.
