Texas summer's are brutal. Here on the coast, the humidity damn near takes a physical form.

On the other hand, college girls don't seem to mind hanging out on the lake in their bikinis during these summers so there is that.

Man, that wind coming off the lake cut us in two! Never been cold like that and never want to again!

Yeah, it is brutal. One of the routes I run in the morning takes along the lake. In the summer it is nice, get a nice cool breeze. In the winter, it sucks, bad.

Mentor is my hometown. Its been really freakin' cold the last few years. My wife and I thinking about moving to Florida, I hear they need more OSU fans there.

Talk to Juice, he knows a bunch of tOSU friendly areas...

I think we are looking at the Cape Coral/ Ft. Myers/Naples area. A lot of things have to happened first. I need to clear it with work and sell the house, being the biggest two.

Pretty good areas. Close enough to everything. I would go more towards Naples.

I regret every minute I am here for allowing the wife to talk me into moving back to Indiana. I get to spend too much time in IN, OH, MI, IL, PA, and WV in the winter. This last winter sucked really bad due to the damn blizzards and -65 windchills. In fact I am right beside the NFL Hall of Fame as we speak. Hate this entire portion of the country.

Florida is so much better. Just stay close to the coast and that makes it outstanding in the summer. Lived 4 miles from the beach before we moved back.

Have you ever been to Rancho Cucamonga? I only ask because I think that name is funny.

:suds: I've been to a handful of Quakes games (Dodgers Class A minor). It's a typical, nice suburban place - not too exciting but not middle of nowhere either.

I've lived in a couple of cities in Ohio and spent a summer in Gainesville. The only things Urban traded are accents and weather.

You keep trying that line of thinking, but forget you are comparing Florida with Ohio. No one with a brain chooses a city in Ohio over a city in Florida. Not sure anyone with a brain chooses to live in Ohio period.

Don't have a horse in this race at all, as I don't like either school too much, but there's a huge difference in Gainesville, FL and Orlando, Tampa, and Miami. Trust me, I know firsthand.

Bet it's fun driving that car in the snow...

That said the summer's here are better than the winters up north... barely...

That's my thoughts... a redneck is a redneck... Ohio and Central Florida both have them in abundance...

Thanks. That is kind of where we are leaning. Her parents already have a spot there and will be done there full time when they retire in a couple of years.

Oh fer Chrissake...not another one! Just throw the brown socks away and lose the red shirt/short combos.

Seriously though, Naples is a pain in the ass now...too crowded. I find Sarasota nearly as annoying. There are still nooks and crannies around Sw FL where you can't hear traffic at night and you won't get annoyed just running to the grocery store or wherever.

Naples is great if you live west of US41 and can stay there most of the time. The same goes for Sarasota in a few places. Ft. Myers is ridiculous...nice clubs and homes along the river with various levels of white trash abutting them. You might wanna have a place in a decent country club for a year or so until you can find your spots.

So according to you, there is more bad than good down there.

Yeah; living west of 41 is great if one likes a heavy concentration of high priced high rise condos, high maintenance, high taxes, lots of traffic, red tide effects, Salt spray and tiny home lots. Apparently you have not visited, Quail Creek, Quail West, Mediterra, Vinyards, Livingston Woods, Logan Woods; all located East of 41.

So according to you, there is more bad than good down there.

The good down here is the ease of making money with less taxes. I'm not fond of the heat in the summers, so I have a place in the Pennsylvania mountains. October through April the climate is wonderful; t-shirt weather with little rain. All that changes north of Sarasota.

"Mentally broke"

You can say that again!

This mental midget is going to leave Ohio State in shambles.
