Yup. Your team has to really be bad to not get a bowl bid.

There are 125 teams. - UNLV, Idaho, and Penn State = 122 teams eligible.

76/122 = 62.3 % of schools will participate in a bowl game.

80 teams had 6 wins or more in 2013, actually 82, but UNLV and Penn State are not eligible.

Basically, all your team has to do is win six games to get a bowl bid. The Participation Ribbon Committee will meet in the back room.

Throw in the playoff championship and there are 39 bowls, but that game includes two of the 76 teams.

So only 46 teams won't go to bowls. I remember when going to a bowl implied that you had a good season.

And Nebraska

You been taking your stupid pills?

You have to go back to 2007 (5-7) for Nebraska to have missed a bowl. Pelini hasn't missed a bowl yet (6 for 6).

Iowa whiffed in 2012 (4-8).

Post a pic of your ol' lady's tits or STFU!!!

So are there going to be teams that were sub .500 going, have FCS schools, or are there bowls that are going to go unfilled

Pretty sure you'll see some (6-7) teams get in, so yeah.

If Big 5 conferences can't fill their allotments then mid-majors that would normally not get invites will fill them.

IMO that's about 50% too many. Another prolem I see is that the bowl games themselves should take the hit if tickets aren't sold. That would kill many of the bowl games. Another thing I think should be factored in is whether or not the games are sold out (at least on a somewhat regular basis).

Thanks Ralphie, of course I knew it. That is why I posted that 82 teams had SIX OR MORE WINS last year.

Teams with losing records have already gone to a bowl game. UCLA did it with a 6-7 record, lost their bowl game and went 6-8, 2011 -2012 season.

Hopefully this means more bowls over the holidays and they didn't just stuff them into the few days of January.

Puts to bed the argument that the season is the playoff when everybody goes to post season...that and it is still decided by a committee. Records just don't mean much in CFB like everybody pretends to think they do.

It's all about money, plain and simple. History and tradition doesn't mean jack anymore either.

Just let then all go to a bowl. They are kids. A free trip to a nice place is nothing compared to how much the schools make collectively.

I love cfb... but damn there's too many bowl games. Make it 7 wins to become bowl eligible. Being rewarded for winning half of your games is stoopid.
