It isn't the best team ever, but your team's best team ever.

Pretty sure the Huskers have 1995, but there are some old-timers that would tout the 1971 team that won the Game of the Century.

Very interested in quite a few programs answers here.

UVA

I still believe the 95 team was the best, even though the 1990 team made it to #1 for two weeks.

The 1995 team

17-18 Michigan in the Big House. Michigan scores their third TD in the final ten minutes with no time left to beat UVA.

40-16 William and Mary

29-24 NC State

41-14 Georgia Tech

22-3 Clemson

35-17 Wake Forest

17-22 UNC

44-30 Duke

16-17 Texas in Texas. Texas hit a 50 yard FG on the final play to make UVA the first team to ever lose two games by one point on the final play in a season

33-28 FSU

21-18 Maryland

29-36 Va Tech. Tech scored two TDs in the final minute for another heartbreaker

34-27 Georgia in the Peach Bowl. After Georgia took the lead with just over a minute, Pete Allen returned the Kickoff to save the season.

A lot of Bama fans will say 2009 but IMO 2011 was our best team. That defense was unbelievable.

Wasn't expecting that.

The 1961 or 1979 Bear Bryant teams were what I was assuming. The defenses from those teams were just silly good.

That 1990 team was pretty damn good. Moore to Moore and then Terry Kirby at RB? That team was tough.

Only bad loss was to Virginia Tech, but that was after getting the wind kicked out of them by eventual National Champs Georgia Tech and then Maryland. Loved watching that team play.

I think that 79 team would be my choice.

Nebraska and OU were by far the best teams in the country that year, and it really wasn't close. 38-6 over a Bear Bryant team?

That game was a laugher and somewhat of a downer after the Game of the Century. Most thought Alabama had a bit more than they did.

if the 71 OU and Nebbish teams were to play 10 games vs each other, I'd bet it would have ended up 5-5. Those 2 teams were incredible.

Oh ya, fuck Johnny Rodgers, LOL!~

My dad says 79 was the best he has ever seen at Bama. Only reason I didnt say them is because I was only 2 yearsold in 79 and wasnt able to see them in person. So thats why I said 2011.

Agree.

Those were both pretty special teams locked in on a special year.

They dominated everybody else on their schedule. Nebraska whipped #2 Alabama 38-6. OU whipped #5 Auburn 40-22. Both teams took #3 Colorado to the woodshed.

The Huskers got the better of a classic 35-31 win that is the calling card of greatest games in college football history.

Younger USC fans would likely say the 2004 Trojans.

Older USC fans like me say it's the 1972 Trojans.

I'd go with 1972.

The NFL talent on that team is absurdly ridiculous.

Yeah, I took a quick look at that roster and it's almost harder to find players on that team that DIDN'T play in the NFL than one's who did.
