Yeah, but that's unfortunately who teams like MTSU have to schedule as a "cupcake".

Losing Kilgore is gonna be huge, I'm thinking it'll be a battle between Murphy and Grammar for the starting spot. I'd feel pretty comfortable with Murphy, since he played pretty well before getting hurt.

I also think we're in for another good year, baring any major injuries/dismissels. Parker, Bryson, Tucker and Whatley, should make for one of the best backfields in C-USA. Not to mention Kamani Thomas, who was rated the 13th best all-purpose back as a freshman.

Pro Day:

The Middle Tennessee Blue Raider football team took to the weight room and the practice field today for their annual Pro Day.

USA Today Sports

DB Kenneth Gilstrap certainly helped his cause with impressive runs in the 40-yard dash and 3-cone drill.
Whereas in years past, MT would field a decent amount of NFL scouts to the event, this year saw a substantial boost in attendees. Overall, 25 NFL scouts from 23 different teams were in town to catch the Blue Raiders in action.

The reason for the increased attendance was due in large part to some highly anticipated performances from some departing seniors of the Blue Raider roster.

All participants began the day in the Blue Raider weight room, where they were weighed and measured before participating in drills such as the vertical jump, broad jump, and the 225-pound bench.

Upon completing these drills, the players relocated to nearby Oakland High School's practice facility where they completed their running and agility tests that included the 40-yard dash and 3-cone drill.

When it was all said and done, a few players separated themselves from the pack. Defensive backs Kenneth Gilstrap, Sammy Seamster and Drayton Calhoun each shined in the forty-yard dash, while offensive lineman Josh Walker and defensive lineman Jimmy Staten performed well on the 225-pound bench.

For Walker and Seamster, they cemented their status as potential late-round draft choices according to one NFL scout. If not taken in the draft, both are expected to become priority free agents for teams around the league. Both players are expected to participate in private workouts with various teams leading up to April's NFL draft.

Gilstrap, who reportedly had meetings with the Jacksonville Jaguars and New England Patriots on Wednesday, perhaps won the day with his solid showing. Not only did the speedy DB shine in the 40-yard dash, he put together solid numbers in just about every category. His performance just might elevate him from an undrafted free agent to a potential late round pick with a better chance of making a roster come training camp.

Eyes were also on QB Logan Kilgore Thursday, who unveiled a 54-play script that both he and Alabama QB AJ McCarron spent their offseason perfecting at the QB Country training facility in Mississippi. While Kilgore's draft stock is not necessarily high, he has signed with renowned agent Bus Cook, and will look to earn a spot on a roster when training camps begin later this year.

White won the Blue & White game, 44-27. Shown Akins can up with a pair of INT's and Chris Sharpe had a pick as well. Jahmal Jones lead the defense with 6 tackles and Austin Grammer lead all QB's with 125 passing yards. Walk-on Tony Rowland lead the RB's with 114 yards on 23 carries.

Wonder if they'll keep the new turf the same or change it up a bit.

Can't wait to see the final product, and glad that they removed the concrete from around the field.

WHY couldn't they have left the endzone like this?? And looks like the shade of blue is different as well.

Looks like we might add huge numbers on the back of the helmets. Really not a fan of it so hope not.
