I say no, because I am a safe person. I certainly can fault Brady Hoke. I am very proud of the University of Michigan Wolverines, and I still hate Ohio State.

Yes TTUN was real successful on their bunch plays all day.
It was a good play call that unfortunately for TTUN the Buckeyes made a miraculous play on.

FG would have been safer, taking the game into OT. But it is what it is & we came out on the winning end :suds:

Going for it was the right call.....Gimpy QB and the FG kicker out of the game.......You don't want to send the game into OT or prolong it.......Michigan had a chance to win it........It was the right call.

I back Hoke 100 percent in the call......Just not the result......

Also, besides the late fumble by OSU - it was clear that our Defense was no longer capable of stopping Ohio State's offense. They were scoring TD after TD.

Right decision. They weren't going to stop the Buckeyes run game in OT. The call could be questioned. Some sort of run/pass option for Gardner might have been better.

This question is really easy to answer.......Seconds before the snap or even during the timeout before the attempt......Ask every OSU fan in the country what they wanted Michigan to do........They were all shitting there pants and praying that we sent out our FG kicker out to get it into OT with a gimpy QB and FG kicker out of the game......

OSU shit thier pants for a few mins even Urban Meyer himself saw his chances of the NCG going down the drain....

It was the right call......Just wish Michigan played with that kind of heart and play calling all year instead of the last week in November.

I actually told the people I was sitting with that if we scored again, after OSU scored with like 2 minutes left, that we needed to go for two. Either end it, or die trying to win. I loved the call. We tried to go for the throat, had a good shot, failed and came out looking like the better team IMO. OSU didn't win that game, we tied it. We chose to try and win it, and in doing so, when we failed, they won by default. THAT was a team you could be proud of, they fought like hell.

MaizeandBlue...the same for me where the start of that final drive for Michigan, I too was in conversations and texts alike, that the 2 point was a must. Defense couldn't stop the run, Gardner could hardly walk and back up in Wile. Additionally, just to plain to win the game. It was the right call period and support it without any questions. The old "hero or goat" on the call where again, have no problem at all. Just glad the Wolverines played as well as they did to help ease some of the seasons pains. I think Wolverine nation can hold their heads up high.

it was fucking stupid but not as stupid as going for it in the 3rd quarter down 7. Ive liked Hoke until this point but now Im sure he just doesnt have what it takes. He will continue to be outcoached especially by Urben Meyer.

I'm at risk of this sounding a little, uh, you know, but I like big balls. It took big balls to make that call. I can't stand conservative play calling. Everyone says they hate when teams/coaches play not to lose but when a coach plays to win we say he's a moron if it doesn't work. People are unbelievable sometimes. I love the call. I love that it made them use their final time out so if we did get the 2 pointer it would be harder for them to get in field goal position. I love the look that must have been on Nut Fans' faces when the O trotted back out there. I can't say that I love the play call. I get Gardner out of the pocket and give him more options on the play. I love that the coach recognized how banged up his QB was and didn't think more snaps was the best thing for him or the team. I love that our coach recognized that the D likely wouldn't stop their run game in OT. Most of all, as I said, I love some big ass balls and Brady Hoke has them. Hopefully it will serve him and Michigan well in the future.

I actually clapped despite not converting the 2 point. I was super proud of that call and that performance. Nothing to be ashamed of and nothing to be mad about. Just my opinion. I don't think any reasonable fan can be mad about what happened in that game. If we play every year like that, we're going to win our share.

Brady Hoke out coached Urban Meyer yesterday. There's no way around that. He put up 600 yards of offense on his team and came a 2pt conversion away from beating the #3 team in the country; one that came in a two TD favorite. The fact that we lost does not mean Urban was the better coach yesterday. We had less talent, less depth and a QB that's been hit like 130 times this year. Urban was out coached and Michigan, not Ohio State, held the power in that game to win or lose it. Unfortunately we didn't win the game but it was a hell of a well coached game.

Also, did you miss the fact that Wile missed the field goal in question that you wanted to go for? Luckily, we know what would have happened if Hoke hadn't have called a time out - Wile would have missed right. The only thing that saved that play was Hoke calling the TO and going for it - which, again, I have no problem with. It's easy to say something was a stupid call in hindsight. Based on the way that game was going, there was no way that the coaches could have known we would catch up and take it to the last 30 seconds. It was a shootout - and we needed TDs, not field goals, at the time.

I was thinking this too. UM has had a disappointing season again and while they'll get a bowl, this was really the season for them. To take OSU down here would have salvaged UM's year. Right call wrong outcome.

I think Hoke gets unfairly judged as being "too conservative," at least a little bit. Consider the first Under-the-Lights game. Hoke could have played it safe, took the field goal and played for overtime. Instead he let Denard take a shot, and they won the game. There is a time to be conservative and a time to be aggressive, the trick is knowing when is when. And yesterday it was definitely the latter. Great call to go for it, but like a lot of my fellow Wolverines I question the play called for the attempt.
