Through 12 weeks of the college football season it has become pretty clear which underclassman are elite NFL prospects. While there are still some uncertainties as to who will declare or not, ten were selected for the list, including another ten honorable mention.

These players were compiled based on not only their impact on the college level, but an equal amount of weight was placed on their NFL potential. There are some big-name and some lesser known players who made the cut, ranging from the all-important quarterback position to the undervalued safety position.

The criteria for each selection is based off of the value of the respective player's position on the next level with respect to how important the passing game is in today's game. While the quarterback position is obviously the most valuable position in football period, tight ends and those who typically guard them (safeties) are two of the most sought after positions come draft time....

No Melvin Gordon III? He's kinda fallen off the radar a little bit since James White is also an NFL caliber running back, but he's still putting up strong numbers even though he's not quite getting the same amount of carries as White.

MG3 probably isn't listed because because running back isn't a high value position in the NFL. I love Gordon, but one of a running backs top duties is in pass protection, and I don't think Gordon is great in that aspect.

Gordon will have a role on an NFL roster because he's a home run hitter, but at the next level I'd bet he's at most a 1 to 2 down back.

I have trouble with the following statement:

"The tight end position is currently the second most sought-after position on offense, following quarterback."

Left tackle is very obviously the 2nd most valuable position. From there, #1 WR is probably next but that is debatable.

Nothing to see there on the list, really. I think we all know about the majority of the top picks coming out next year

Two posts, both links to his site. Coincidence?

I am not a spammer. I just found this site and am hoping it can be a place to talk football. Yes, I do write for a few places but that doesn't mean I won't be a regular contributor to the forum. And a lot of people seem to want to see the link anyway, if anything it can generate more discussion in here and that's what I want..to talk about these players.

So you are telling me that teams would rather have the best LT in football over the best TE (Jimmy Graham?) I would tell you that you are crazy.

Having an elite tight end is more sought after than an elite tackle now, it is just the way things are. They are more rare and can elevate a team's offense to levels a receiver or tackle can't. Plain and simple.

So, post the list. Dont see why people have to be forced to your site to read your opinion. We have a discussion forum right here. We get this a lot. Hope you can understand.

I'd understand if links aren't allowed on your site, at all. Why is there an option to post a link at all if we cant use it?
