I see Heinz Field is used so much with the Steelers playing their, the panthers playing their home games their, and the high school football championship games play at Heinz too. So don't you think the field is being used just a little bit too much, and the field is really torn up I see. Pitt having their own on campus stadium in the near future I think is the right move, agreed? Plus transportation would be alot easier since the new stadium if it were to be ever built right at PITT.

Meh. The taxpayers are the main reason why Heinz was built in the first place. Perhaps they should go to fieldturf but there were a ton of promises about having everyone play in that place.

As far as the students getting there? It's no issue at all. Oakland isn't far at all.

Don't know if you have ever been to Pitt's campus but there is no room for a stadium there. It would be cool to do, but if they were going to do it, they would have to demolish half the hill district and build it close to the Pens arena. Which is politically a non-starter.

Transportation isn't a huge deal, they have busses running over to the stadium constantly in the hours before game time, the drive is only 10-15 minutes.

This was answered "NO & NEVER" when they tore down the old Pitt Stadium and moved home games to Heinz Field.

True, but when you have an 100,000+ eyesore stadium, the only way to improve it is to put HUMONGOUS led lights and scoreboards on top that probably can be seen from space.

I don't know where they would put it. I had a lot of good times in the old stadium, and have a picture of it on my wall I'm looking at right now. Those days are gone forever, no place to put it and the cost would be astronomical.

I do too! Pitt used to offer $5 youth tickets to certain games. Our church group took the alter servers and any of the High School players that wanted to go each year from the early 80's until they tore down the stadium. We usually had some pretty good seats in the endzone and saw some great games too. A Saturday night name against Syracuse that aired on ESPN among them. Oh well! :bawling: :sad2:
