To be honest, I'm not terribly disappointed about this. With Weaver, it was different. If not for Thrusday night games, every kick off would be 1:30. Whit understands the lure and draw of night games. If I'm picking between a Thursday night and a Saturday night, it's the latter 100% of the time.

We also have the Monday night game on Labor Day, so there's that too.

The bigger issue is that we have a Friday game. That's some Conference USA bullshit.

Used to love Thursday night games when I was a student, but I'm too old now, haha. Hard to watch a game that doesn't end until close to midnight and then having to take an hour or more to let the adreneline lower (win or lose) before trying to fall asleep. Then hoping that your kids don't wake up so that you can get some sleep before getting ready for work the next morning. And this is just watching the game at home without drinking too heavily.

At least with Saturday night games, you can sleep in a little longer on Sunday and recover before Monday.

Thursday night games were great in the beginning to garner exposure for the program in both the general public and recruits eyes, but Saturday nights are better overall in my opinion, even if competing for airtime against other games.

I'm a fan of thursday night games in Lane for us. They are a tradition for us and even during down years, we get national exposure. If we start getting more saturday night games, I will be less bummed but the students love it, most fans love it and I'm sure ESPN loves it because they know they will get a good viewing compared to some of their other match ups. This year is different since we have a monday and friday game so throwing another weekday game in there would be pretty tough on our guys having another short week in there. I am a big fan of Thursday games and would rather play on Thursday than Friday

I'm not sure whether the novelty is 'Thursday' night games, or just night games in general. TNGs seem like a 'tradition' only bc Weaver refused to schedule night games, and games on Thursday were the only taste we got. I can't really think of a single TNG that was that much rowdier than a big Saturday night game.

I'd take Saturday night games 10/10 times, because the atmosphere is just as good or better (all day to pregame for all fans), and I sometimes felt like big Thursday night wins weren't as fresh in pollsters minds as a Saturday night win when polls come out Monday.

VT with only 4 Saturday home games?....WTF? I wish VT had an ACC game or two scheduled in September. I hate it when guys get banged up and injured before we even start conference play.

Tough schedule for UVA....a nice send off for London.

Yikes that's a lot of double FCS scheduling (or FCS+formerly FCS).

Also, UVA has pretty damn respectable OOC schedule with a couple of those games at home.
