Yep...half the games blacked out every year...5-11 and 6-10 seasons were the highlights....

It's why I found my inner niner fan...loved me some Joe Montana...which is why I enjoy watching the 2nd coming of him so much now.

Always a pats fan...but there wasn't a soul in this region that didn't have a "2nd favorite team" throughout most of the late 80's and 90's....

Same with the C's when the big 3 collapsed.

Is it Naerhing? That's my best guess...he was in that same draft as Vaughn and Valentine...I think....

88...I remember it because it's the year I reflect back as the year I became an informed die-hard sox fan..

It's all mike Greenwell's fault...

I never went to NFL games as a kid.

My first live game was in Cleveland...Steelers/Browns in 93. I was barely 19. Metcalf returned 2 punts for TD's to give the Browns a win in a game the Steelers otherwise dominated completely.

I had a Steelers hat on, and got doused in beer and lord knows what else.

My Browns fan buddies literally had to walk me and the other Steeler fan who was with us to the bathroom, the beer line...everywhere.
