I hope im wrong
Again im saying generational talent
Im not arguing your generational talent point but i don't like your reasoning. He very well may not be a generational talent but it won't be due to his weight

I'm completely out of the loop on the Britney Wemby thing. What's this about?

Apparently, she's a Wemby fan and thinks people still know who she is.

I guess she came up behind him and tapped him on the shoulder because she wanted a picture with him. One of his security guys saw someone tapping his shoulder and put his arm between her and Wemby and pushed her back.

She apparently got caught across the face, but there is some question as to whether or not it was his hand that caught her in the face or her own hand being pushed into her face.

She apparently reported it to the police.

That kid is not a "generational talent". Do you remember what Magic and Bird looked like as rookies? MJ? LBJ? Unless your definition of a "generation" is 4-5 years because this kid will not be as good as Luka. He will be a plus defender while he hopefully gains 30-40 pounds so he won't be bounced around like a ping pong ball in a summer league game, and someone needs to tell him that sub 30% from 3 the last five years means he probably needs to quit jacking it up like Steph Curry

He is absolutely a generational talent.

That doesn’t mean he is guaranteed to live up to the hype.

But there hasn’t been a better prospect to enter the league since maybe Shaq.

The last generational talent was Zion
The issue is people see Generational talent and expect it to work out everytime and for them to dominate day 1.

Zion was because a guy that big has never moved like that, the potential to be better Barkley was there. Injuries have so far derailed it.

Wemby has a combination of length and mobility that we rarely see. If he hits his potential it is his league for years. If he doesn't then he is another wasted potential.

Generational talent is not a guarantee of success, it is saying if this player hits his potential it is higher than most prospects. There is no guarantee against injuries or poor work ethic.

Who have been the generational talent prospects?

Shaq
Duncan
Lebron

Who else?

I think Bird and Magic even though they were the same year.

Duncan I agree with, but I put a tier below anyone else on this list in terms have talent.

Part of the allure with Duncan was that he was so polished. There was almost no way he wasn’t going to be a star.

If you need to generate ridiculous things like this at the end of your posts you are probably not starting from a great place in your argument.

Yao Ming was a lumbering hulk that needed to play close to the basket, he was as close to a traditional center as you will see. He was great at it.

If you are looking for a template of what Wembenyama can be it is closest to Olajuwon or KG.

I think his upside is some combination of both KD and Dream.

And that is downright scary.

I only went back to 90, I wasn’t even alive for bird and magic

I was like 6 when Shaq got picked and even I knew he was a generational type talent at that age.

The hype was there even back then

I don't think he ever shoots well enough for that. Taller KG is my favorite.
