Why doesn’t the NFL let the play stand after a fumble like that? Why not give the Vikings a TD? I forgot the explanation on it

Makes no sense, if play was dead, then no fumble. Maybe because of the penalty? Anyway, penalty should have been applied on ensuing kickoff.
