With all the bitching about the rotation/SP and the bullpen, I have failed to give credit where credit is due.....this offense absolutely sucks balls too

This is why it was pretty surprising to me that Woody allowed JD to say publicly they intend to complete next year. This team needs a lot of work and they made no trades that helped the team for 2023.

Leody has really struggled since about mid-July. Let's see if he can make the necessary adjustments.

Ironically this is pretty much exactly the thing you say is Woody's biggest issue
My management style is more collaborative but this setting is meant to be fun and yes I think perhaps blindly that Woody has blind spots. I am sure he uses stats more than me

You evidently think we rail on Woody too much making him the scapegoat unjustly it appears

Stats in my book are flawed in that they only use past performance. Things and people change.

I did catch a game this series and it was pain.

Could be that most of the games the rest of the way, might be painful.

I could be wrong and I am quite a bit but I personally dont think there is any way, they can make enough moves to make this team a contender for anything in 2023. That is not pessimism either just a harsh reality, This team stinks and it will be '24 or '25 at least before this team is capable of finishing in the top 2 of the AL West

what I think is that y'all think Woody has far more power over personnel decisions than he actually has.

I personally have ripped Woody many times for things like shitty lineups and bullpen management. because those are among the decisions that the manager makes.

refusing to call up prospects aren't decisions that the manager makes, so people blaming Woody for that is really strange.

they need to add at least 2 quality starters, 2 quality BP pieces, and 2 better bats in the lineup at minimum to even think about trying to compete for the WC next year.

I would say at the least......especially with no closer. May need at least 3 BP pieces and thats if Moore is back

Hernandez must not have been acclimated to getting outs in a non-save situation
I wasn't that crazy even with his save the other night. I am glad he was able to do it but he is about 50% on his ball to strike ratio. Threw 7 strikes out of 14 pitches on his save. You are not going to get away with that on a consistent basis in the MLB. That seems to be the problem with many of our pitchers down in the minors.

You might be right. It would be nice if some of minor leaguers started to really put it together. But I am not going to hold my breath.
