From the beginning I was not a fan of Calhoun being here for the same reason many of you have stated in that it takes away any playing time for our younger players. He has won some games with his bat and glove so while I appreciate that it defeats the purpose of our rebuild.
They will hopefully trade Calhoun for a low-level prospect at the deadline.

Did we ever get an explaination why they quit on him?

“”The question remains of why there’s the hesitation in moving Brock Burke to the rotation. Well, there are a couple of factors:

  1. The Rangers will have to build Burke up to five innings instead of two.
  2. There’s a chance the velocity and movement of Brock Burke’s pitches will suffer because the stamina has to build out too. A fear is that if that velocity ticks down, it becomes more vulnerable and makes Burke less effective.
  3. It’s messing with a role that is working.””

Maybe this off-season/Spring training he can prepare to be a SP for next year

I get they the FO wanted to field a team a team to at least look that they are going to compete
And from what heard to be a leader mentoring presence.
But yes they ship has passed and I surely don’t want starts that take away form Duran

Great game for Martín. Now finish the game out with the bullpen.

Yes he is not going to start this season. Wonder about next year though. Also wonder if we trade him and another team stretches him out

Duran could have stayed in at 2B too instead of Culbertson. We will see who starts next game against the Halos

The last 4 games is like a sandwich with great bread and rancid meat in the middle.

Not anything close to a valid one.
I asked Sandler on after game show and he said valid or not they were not going to do it to due to past injury and also if ain’t broke don’t fix it,

They were not going to send him down in this season to stretch him out

Yeah, I remember that. The injury is very old news. Woody just pidgeon-holed him in ST and doesn't want to admit his mistake in judgment.

I don’t think Richard’s likes the mound heights like Howard mentioned

If you pull all your regulars you better have a guy ready in the pen and yes they dawdled.
Garret hit hard all batters but one

100% on Woody. Very poor managing and this is not the first time. Try to poke a hole on this

I just don’t see that happening. For some reason the organization is in love with Calhoun. I don’t think they will get rid of him. As long as he’s here, woody will play him everyday, either in the outfield or DH.
well if they don't move Calhoun, Miller and Culberson they will occupy 3 of the 13 spots on the roster that leaves 10 roster spots and when you look at Heim, Lowe, Semien, Seager, Taveras & Garcia, that 6 more spots adding up to 9 with Duran, Hernandez and Smith seeing a lot of time covering 3 spots that would leave 1 spot which normally goes to the backup catcher. keeping any or all of the first 3 means little room to give anyone else playing time

i thought the signing of Calhoun & Miller were a bit of a desperation move by the FO and wish they hadn't done it. Culberson sort of made some sense. but now it's time to move on from them
