Correct. I'm sure the Cavs knew with no Lebron (and Kyrie) PG would not stay.Or George refused to commit to re-sign when Lebron wouldn't. Semantics though.

This isn't about the badly mismanaged Lakers - this is about what the Pelicans can do - and most of you seem to think that just because you declared a deal of two mediocre role players for an elite all star - that's a good trade. It isn't - You say it's not like the Lakers have improved that much - but they was in the top 4 teams in the standings until the injuries. I haven't seen the Knicks do that without injuries even for a few weeks. Come back to me in January and we will see what the Lakers can do without the injuries and a slightly better coach. And for what it is worth - Ingram and Kuzma are both putting up better stats then anyone on the Knicks team 18 points per game 4 to 5 rebounds. No one on the Knicks is over 11 or so.Right now, of course but this isn't about replacing him now, it's in the future. If you get a combo of young players and depth on this team it would help them going forward. I am not a fan of R.J. but what if he does become a James Harden type of player or Knox becomes a nice wing like Middleton. You never know, we just know they are young and both have potential.
I mean it's not like the Lakers players have improved that much. Kuzma might be the best of the bunch. Lonzo hasn't improved and is injured. Ingram is still immature, improved a little but for the #2 pick has been somewhat of disappointment so far.
There are rumors that the Bulls are interested in Lonzo (if the Pels aren't) and could offer up the #7 pick. #4, #7, Ingram and Kuzma sounds like strong value to me. 4 and 7 could get a PG (Garland/White) and a wing (Culver/Hunter/Reddish), or maybe Jaxson Hayes if they are so inclined. They could have a very raw, but very talented young team with a ton of upside. Of course, the Knicks could put together a very good offer as well, depends on who the Pels prefer in terms of prospects (and who they prefer to trade with if the values are comparable).
He sounded ridiculous IMO.
First, why air the dirty laundry in public like that. He sounded like a baby who wanted to be sure everyone still “liked him”. Second, he shot himself in the foot. He ADMITTED that he wasn’t in the office enough!! Then he complained that people called him out on it!! News flash... you’re the BOSS!! You’re supposed to be there!! Third, he defended the egotistical way he resigned by blindsiding everyone!! If anyone did any backstabbing it was Magic.
Indiana traded George really fast when he wanted out - Irving demanded a trade something like a month later in the summer. Had Indiana waited - they might have done better - Its speculation though - I know that because they ended up pretty decentSeems more likely Cavs backed out of this deal when Lebron would not commit to stay.

Maybe they could've squeezed more picks out of someone but to get a good player signed long-term and a good bench option to boot is pretty good return on an expiring contract that wasn't keeping quiet about wanting out. Even if they had nabbed Kyrie there was even less chance of him sticking with Indy than there is of him sticking with Boston now and you get the headache to boot.It really did, but they might have done better - they didn't have to do a trade that quick. I would play it out win or lose
I don't think the Lakers would have signed Jason Kidd to work with Lonzo Ball if they intended to trade him, so we are most likely stuck with him for another season
The Lakers are not getting Anthony Davis - the owner said over her dead body before she would trade him to the Lakers. Lakers fans need to understand - We are not getting him.If he helps get AD, he's gone. Lonzo wasn't the only lure for Kidd, as Lebron is friendly with him as well.
The Pelicans don't want players that might or might not turn out to be good - They want a player now ready. There is nothing to indicate that the Pelicans are ready to trade AD - In fact they have flat out said they are not interested. by July or August - if they get a good offer, I think they should - but they can do better then "I don't know how they will turn out"You have no clue how RJ and Knox will turn out, saying you think they are medicore role players could be the case in the future but they aren't projected to be mediocre players. There is a difference. But that's exactly what you are getting with Ingram and Kuzma except older too, Ingram got better but he was nothing special same with Kuzma. There are no clear cut stars/all-stars in any deal. Ingram is the best player we know right now but still nothing to get so excited about. The deals are close overall. With the Lakers they most likely know what they have but Ingram is up for a contract extension soon. When Lebron is healthy and the team around him is any team Lebron team will be up in the standings. I saw progression from Ingram and Kuzma a bit but not enough where I think they are going to be great players.
Like I have said before though if the Lakers did trade Ball to the Bulls that helps that trade a lot adding in another pick and taking that Hill contract possibly. No doubt about it.
Also, never said anything about the management but if the Pelicans got about the same deal from the Knicks, who are in the East, and they don't have to deal with a west team they could pull the trigger. The owner seems to hate the Lakers, but it still just comes down to if Griffin has full control of this thing. It does matter.
42 years in between two championships
Bruh check your mathBoston has been a bucket of shit for 42 years - lmao
Never expect a Lakers fan to call Boston anything but a Bucket of Shit- We are not objective about them. I would have thought you was smart enough to know this by now - My badBruh check your math
And now I can never expect a Laker fan to understand simple subtractionNever expect a Lakers fan to call Boston anything but a Bucket of Shit- We are not objective about them. I would have thought you was smart enough to know this by now - My bad
Or you might be talking through your ass - Jeanie Buss has been in basketball and the NBA a long time. I think she is quite capable of running the Lakers and don't need to replace Magic Johnson. If It turns out that she isn't good at it - I am quite sure she will bring in someone different. Even the late Dr Jerry Buss brought in highly capable people. The only way the dysfunction of the Lakers could get any funnier is if Jeanie's sleeping w/ Pelinka.
