QB rating only gonna get you so far here. Especially when the road opponents in the division are...

Atlanta

Tampa Bay

Carolina

Smells like variance nonsense to me. Or correlation =/= causation.

The Pats also have to play the first place team from other divisions every year because they're always finishing first. There is that, and of course the fact that Brady is just better. Are you suggesting otherwise?

All irrelevant anyways. Neither are on Joe Montana's level.

Brady is a team player. Brees just cares about his own stats and contract. I don't even think he cares when the Saints lose anymore as long as he throws for 300 + and a few scores.

I think he's a class act and a good guy. Maybe if his teams were better he could pulled some miracles out of his butt in the playoffs ala Brady but he didn't.

The Saint's were damm good last year but they need to win a SB in the next 2-4 years.

well you have to take those stats with a grain of salt... How many dome games versus dome games have they played?

Bottom line both are great and people can put numbers that show one is better than the other....

Well yeah, I am just shitting on the idea Brees is a dome QB, because by the same standard so is Brady.

The fact the stats are as close as they were with Brees' early career in SD is actually kind of funny to me.

Yeah I figured as much... Just would like to know the numbers of games played is all.. Not trying to disprove you or anything because you put the work in... I am just a curious (lazy bastid to look up) person

A biggish number by NFL standards, but plenty of wackiness and circumstance is almost always baked into NFL stats. It's not an overwhelming sample size like baseball can be.

Anyone who does not think Brees is a guaranteed hall of famer is either drunk, high on some serious drugs or believes football is soccer.

The only question that should be asked is if he is first ballot or not.

No argument from me there. Only guys you can find with better stats don't have a big sample or started their career much later than Brady did.

I just hate ringzzz arguments that aren't team related.
I tend to agree when people pretend it's the be all end all of a discussion. It's such a lazy card to play by many and I'm assuming all of the people that say that think Foles is better than Wentz and Eli is better than Marino???

But, that being said, one of the most important attributes of a QB is putting a team on his back and winning a game in a big spot. Yes he needs help from his Offense and yes he needs help from his defense and maybe even a little luck, but performing your best when the lights are the brightest DOES matter and is a huge part of being an All Time great QB. Just don't act like trumps all else.

One plays in the AFC East. The other does not.

SB Winz probably mean close to nothing to me as far as player comparisons go.

Plunkett and Eli have multiple super bowl rings.

A ridiculous column would be SB wins.

Doubt Brady would have more than 2 rings if the pats played in the nfc

I don't know? Looking at those numbers if Brady played a minimum of 8 home games a year in a dome his stats could potentially be off the chart.

Maybe you should compare PayAton and Brees?

A couple of his rings were courtesy of some serious choke jobs.
By NFC teams correct?

Hmmmm maybe he'd have more rings if he played in the NFC? He wouldn't have had to face the Gspots twice.

No but It would change the narrative about him though. Put him higher on that mythical GOAT QB list. Look what just one more SB win did for Manning.

The 'narrative' is based upon some idiotic notion that says 'more rings = better'....with little to no substance behind it. I find it somewhat interesting that you would use Peyton Manning as an example, given that all we need to look at are the two QB's in this discussion....Brady/Brees. Brees' last run at a potential SB ended on a complete fluke/meltdown that he had nothing to do with. Brady? Well....lets just say his last two 'rings' were literally given to him by Atlanta and Seattle.

Rings themselves, don't mean much at all.
