i agree with you. kinda shameful trying to claim him like this.
maybe we should also retire richie allen's number. perhaps tom seaver's? maybe we could squeeze in ken griffey too. let's pretend every great player who ever wore a sox uniform was a real white sox!Yeah, agreed too. I love Thome, even when he was an Indian. I always felt he was a throwback to the old school type of ballplayer. I'm thrilled that he's part of our organization. But just 4 years playing with the Sox and they retire his number? Sorry, that's just plain dumb.
Devoted a whole fng pre-game ceremony ... ala Paulie-type SportsHoopla ... made me wannaRetiring his number is stupid. If they want to honor him put a plaque or something where his home run ball landed in the black out game
Hmmm ... I was half-ass watching the BS, yesterday, waiting for the game to start and they sure made a big deal of his jersey number and all the SportsHoopla. I guess I may have just assumed they were retiring his number with all Paulie-like pageantry going on.From what I’m reading, they didn’t retire his number. They just honored him for getting into hof
Chet Lemon! While they're at it... Tom Paciorek?
Tadahito Iguchi!Up next. Adam Dunn
Agree 100%. I wasn't all that happy the Indians built a statue for him and retired his number. Yes he had a great career with the Tribe but he also left for more cash from the Phillies.Yeah, agreed too. I love Thome, even when he was an Indian. I always felt he was a throwback to the old school type of ballplayer. I'm thrilled that he's part of our organization. But just 4 years playing with the Sox and they retire his number? Sorry, that's just plain dumb.
