I wonder if Urban has read the letter OSU posted on his Twitter account yet?

I don't think even OSU knew Urban was going to post a letter on his twitter........

This now seems like a PR battle between Urban & his people and Gene Smith. With the crazy Smith family throwing their shit in between.

I agree that it is a poor metric, but that is the one that many programs use.
It is terribly unfortunate. Because that is how serial criminals are enabled to continue to abuse their victims under the umbrella of "due process".

Oh yea due process is a terrible thing, we should just automatically unquestionably throw any man ever accused of anything by a woman directly into prison. Thank god people like you arent actually involved with our legal system. Awful dangerous thinking.

Because he claims he has always reported everything. Someone is in trouble if they kept a coach in place for 3 yrs after hearing about the allegations in 2015.
Why? How do just allegations require termination? Was there proof they ignored, sure. But just the existence of allegations should not require termination

Consistency.

If proper procedure required reporting, then he should have reported it so that the procudre would end in the termination of Zach Smith. On the other hand, if procedure did not require reporting (or firing) then Zach Smith never should have been fired.

However, no one, least of all Urban Meyer, disputes that Smith should be fired for the incident in 2015, as evidenced by the fact that he was, indeed fired, once the incident came to the light of public scrutiny.

So - bottom line - this shit don't add up. Someone screwed up royally.
Looks like he got fired for violation of protection order this year. So it looks you are wrong. You are making an assumption that the wife's version of the 2015 incident is the truth. Do you have any other details the rest of us don't or just her interview?

I didn’t say termination. You report him and put him on paid leave until it’s sorted out

I was reading on twitter that the letter was likely more to protect his contract if he’s terminated than anything else

It is my understanding the university knew about the letter and approved it.

  • Urban told Gene about Zach's 2015 incident.
  • Gene called Zach and told him to hop a plane from Florida and get back to Columbus.
  • Zach met with the Powell police department.
  • The Powell police department did not file any charges.
  • The Powell police department told Gene that no charges would be filed.
  • Urban told Zach that if he found out there was any abuse, he would be fired.
  • The first and only time Zach was arrested (in 2018) he was fired, despite the fact that the arrest was for criminal trespass, not for any abuse.

Not sure what else Gene or Urban could have done other than fire a guy because his ex wife called 911 66 times in 90 days. Hell, the Powell police dispatchers stopped sending squad cars when she called.

It didn’t feel right Urban could've possibly done something that stupid, not his first day on the school yard, is it?

Ohio State's athletic department is essentially caught in an episode of Jerry Springer now with these 2 loonies.

Yikes. Like you say I would have thought Urban, and Saban, are about as Teflon as it gets in cfb
just got off work and catching up. Looks like an offensive is on today, with Urban's statement, the batterer was interviewed (basically he was throwing the ex under the bus, interview was pretty bad. Said basically he was just defending himself...)and OSU put out a statement, forming a committee.
