The only avenue he has towards getting that money is taking the qualifying offer and waiting until next Summer....

Well, unless the Kings go KANGZ.

Nobody else has the space.

Some team would need to make a massive trade or buyout.

Or, offer something of great worth in a sign and trade.
He'd be stupid to sign up for multiple years this season when the cap is only going up next year & the year after. Capela & his agent clearly aren't the sharpest tools in the shed.

CP3 got his money now while putting a strangle hold on the team's ability to pay other guys because there's a good chance he's no longer playing in 2 years. lol

Yes, there was that....lol
I think they tried it this year with TT....and now that Lance has signed on with LA I wouldn't be surprised to see him try it too if the Lakers make it that far.

On the plus side....you have a promising young core of players....
Yeah but they need a big piece to add to it. They'll have plenty of money next offseason to get that piece, unfortunately the player or players have to actually WANT to go to the Kings. And because of that they will never move into contention.

Yeah....

I am really surprised he's going to be the 4.

LeBron is super skilled. But, one of his biggest advantages is being bigger, stronger faster than the other guys at his position.

With that being said....

I saw a quote from Pelinka that I 100% agree with....

Trying to out Warrior the Warriors is madness.

I just don't see the Lakers being able to keep pace with them, Offensively, even if the new faces are able to slow them down.

Maybe I'm wrong...

Time will tell.

Even if I am right, at least they were smart enough to only commit to this style for a Season.

Pelinka explains moves around LeBron: ‘Earvin and I had a conversation, and LeBron echoed this sentiment: to try to play the Warriors at their own game is a trap... so that is why we wanted to add elements of defense, toughness and depth’ espn.com/nba/story/_/id…
They are trying to do what Hou did. It worked out better for Hou than it will for LA because Hou had shooters. LA doesn't have good enough shooters. You need shooters that shoot it at 40% at a minimum to outscore the Dubs. Because let's face it. Defending them is only half the battle. AND GS defends really well themselves - so if you have streaky shooters shooting only 30% that ain't gonna work.

It's tough when the Kings play in Sacramento....but maybe if they show some promise next season they can snag a tier 2 FA.

Nothing personal but the kings lack of moves excites me as a celtics fan. we need that lottery pick to be top 5

They'll be competing with a lot of other teams for them, unless the young guys play well enough to get them into playoff conversation by the halfway point of the season or later no top 2 FA will want to come near this franchise(and that might not be enough). Beyond frustrating.

Nothing personal but the best team in the East loaded with young players and assets doesn't "need" a top 5 pick. It'll help them yeah but they're doing just fine without it.

clearly it might have USED to have been- but at this point

cmon,

even you would have to conceed that as far as conferences go- the Pac 12 is at BEST the 4th best Conference in college football. That shellacking the Bucks just put on the Trojans was a good example of how times have changed.

Those west coast teams are just not competitive like they used to be. They just play a soft version of football that just cant stand up to the Big 10, ACC and SEC.

plus, for a sole/not shared, untainted championship, the last time for the Pac 10 was in the early 70's....thats a pretty crazy stat if you ask me.

And yet...

USC is 68-29-2 vs, the Big 10 all time.

Prior to the last Cotton Bowl, tOSU hadn't beaten USC since 1975.

The PAC-12 as a conference has a winning record all time vs. the Big 10.

Whatever kind of football they're playing in the PAC-12...it's clearly better than what they're playing in the Big 10.

Especially at USC.

How is not making it a personal goal to play all 82 slacking off?

He clearly said that was something that he was focused on doing last year.

He isn't getting any younger. There is a much bigger picture here.

Outside of a major injury in Oakland, you aren't winning a championship.

So, if sitting him a few games here and there preserves him for 2019 when you can add another Star, so be it.

Exactly. I'd like to see Lebron play in the 70-75 game range and play around 30-35 minutes per game.

Should be enough to get things figured out with the young guys and get the Lakers to the playoffs so we can see how the young guys react to that.

It's obvious when he has the amount of mileage on him that he does.

No chances it's 30mpg. They may scale him back but it'll still be 34-35mpg.

Hoping he stays healthy. Injuries killed his season as spo had more confidence in Olynyk at the 5 by the time he came back from those injuries

Both can play.
Olynyk seems to find his own flow.
Whiteside needs help. Part of that is on him, but the players and coaches share the blame.
You can’t ignore him for minutes at a time.
He gets frustrated which leads to a stupid foul or two.
