Go ahead and jump on my shit but......As far as I am concerned....Seager is just an big fat ass piece of SHIT!! Makes a ton of money and fucks his team more times than not. Hate to see him come to the plate with RISP.
I never understood that contract, he was ok as a rookie but never great. It seemed like he had a bit more to prove at the time.

He seems to decide to take a pitch before its even thrown and if its right down the middle of the pipe so be it. Drives me nuts.

He has his moments, but I would definitely say his performance the last couple seasons does not live up to his contract.

Interesting stat. Maybe just hit a little spell when he moved to 2B full time?

Real possibility and I thought the same thing. Also considered playing 2B is more taxing taking away energy to hit? Not really sure but found it interesting. Another thought I had was that playing a new position took so much concentration that it carried over to his AB's and locked him in at the plate.

I guess we all can choose the theory we like best. :)

What, no "Get Marco 10" T-Shirts?

I do like his composure and competitiveness.

They have scored in 3 of the 18 innings. Not what you want to see.

The reason for pessimism. This team was never built to have its rotation carry it and that's exactly whats happened since Mid May. This offense has done just enough but that's based on getting elite pitching. We are already seeing the starting pitching regress slightly. Some of that is Cano but not all it. There is enough talent on this offense to expect more and they do need more.

That was an absolute monster outing from Gonzales. Unreal.

SeattleCoug I do not understand your connection with "starting pitching regress slightly" and "Some of that is Cano but not all" as indicated in bold from your quote. Unless I am missing something, how are you making pitching performance being related to Cano? I'm not following your reasoning with this. Would you mind clarifying or explaining what you mean by that? Not trying to be a smart ass or anything I'm just curious your reasoning with this. Thanks :noidea:

No worries. I just meant that going into the year it was somewhat expected that offense would be the strength of the team and the starting pitching would be the question mark. For the most part it seems like that has been the opposite.
The hitting seems to be a little worse then expected. Some of that is because of Cano missing but I think more along the lines of Zunino, Seagar, Healey, Gordon being inconsistent or worse then expected.

Before last night I was worried the starting pitching was regressing a little and that the offense hasn't shown its capable lately of winning games by itself.

OK, thanks. The pitching regression had nothing to do with Cano but our offense is probably effected w/o Cano. Agree totally. With few occasional exceptions, I feel the pitching has fallen off and the offense continues to struggle getting guys on base and in particular getting RISP plated. Hope the AS break gives everyone a needed break and make a decent pushed for the remainder of the 2018 season. Go Mariners :D

Oakland beats Houston again. Skaggs is coming off the DL. Let's hope he's rusty and we put up 5 or 6 in the first few innings.

I think Paxton turns it around tonight but the hitting needs to get better. A couple HR's last night was nice but having guys on base with zero outs and not score has to change tonight. Get the win and get the hell out! Go M's!
