Was it more talented or better coached? Michigan has much higher recruiting classes and have been putting lots of players into the NFL. Results are not showing in the W column.

Just in regards to talent, I'd say PSU was last year. They were definitely more skilled at the skill positions(QB, RB, WR, TE). Penn State had 6 guys drafted, 3/4 of it was their secondary, so I'd say as a unit that was probably better as well. Like I said, I agree though, Harbaugh has been disappointing the last couple seasons.

UW plays 11 P5 teams this season including @ Auburn.

Guess how many shits I give. Doesn't change the fact your team still plays an FCS team.

Did you miss the part about Clemson not being a blueblood?

Dabo has built a relevant program literally from scratch.

Pelini and Hairbawls inherited blueblood programs that had names. Names and facilities to recruit to. Names that were in the media at all times even when they sucked.

Clemson was a shell of a program compared to Michigan and Nebraska.

To be fair, Clemson has 2 more consensus national titles than Michigan does in the past 65 years.

They we're #1 entering the CFP and lost to Bama. UGA loses a lot. I wouldn't have them ahead based on personnel losses. And Clemson was better than Ohio State last year, no reason that'll be different this year IMO.
That's debatable.

Both had the same record, both won their conference, but OSU had better wins - they had 2 wins ranked higher than Clemson's best to go with 4 top 15 wins (3 of which won their bowl games) compared to Clemson's 2 (both of whom lost their bowl game, one to one of OSU's top 4 wins).

OSU's blowout loss to 8-5 Iowa and Clemson's close loss to 4-8 Syracuse negate each other basically, and both had losses to elite teams.

No way after he just took the team to the playoffs as the #1 seed.
And they got slaughtered. It doesn't take much to look up his numbers and see how far behind the rest of the top QBs in the nation he is. He just isn't good, and if anything, he held them way back last year.

No it's not. One team made the playoff, one team did not.

Yeah it is. OSU was rated higher in the overall team efficiency metric, which means they were better. Making the playoffs is an entirely subjective element. Team efficiency isn't. OSU was better.

Unless this is one of those times you wanna go hypocrite on me and tell me they don't count this time.

And Ohio State had the luxury of playing USC instead of Alabama as their 13th game because they weren't good enough to be included in the CFP.

Meaning they would've still had more high end wins. Got it, OSU was still better.

No way. He's just not a good enough QB. Their defense is going to be elite, but their offense is going to struggle if he's still the QB. We saw them completely stall out against Alabama and lose to a very bad Syracuse team because of offensive ineptitude. Alabama, Ohio State, and Georgia all deserve to be ahead of them at least.

Sounds an awful lot like the "They lost to Pitt and gave up a bazzilion points, they aren't that good" stuff we heard in the month leading up to the Fiesta Bowl a couple years back and we saw how that worked out.

You're wanting to penalize Clemson because they had to play a significantly tougher opponent in bowl season. That doesn't make any sense to me. Clemson was #1 in the CPU's and had a better efficiency before playing Alabama.
