clearly it might have USED to have been- but at this point

cmon,

even you would have to conceed that as far as conferences go- the Pac 12 is at BEST the 4th best Conference in college football. That shellacking the Bucks just put on the Trojans was a good example of how times have changed.

Those west coast teams are just not competitive like they used to be. They just play a soft version of football that just cant stand up to the Big 10, ACC and SEC.
I'm a Cal fan and you're not wrong. But things do change, maybe the PAC 12 will rise again. I don't care much about college sports especially football.

Its just a lot different of a game then it used to be right now.

Certain teams that were powerhouses are finding it harder to compete- money and resources matter so much. Like Nebraskaa used to be a powerhouse and now they are nothing for the most part.

The Buckeye are one of the few northern teams that have actually done better the last few years. ND has lost a lot of its former luster etc.......

I have to give the ACC a lot of credit- especially Clemson- FSU for their fairly recent title etc.....I didnt see that coming.

I like Isaacs as well, but I'm not sold on Gordon. That's a lot of money to spend on a still raw athlete without a true go-to basketball skill IMO It's a good start, but there is a LOT of work to do with that roster. There is a lot of middling talent beyond those three.
Yeah, beyond his athleticism...Gordon is still a question mark.

I like Simmons and Vuvecic too.

I still think Vuvecic is trade bait. No point in extending him after drafting Bamba.

I'm still confused about them not addressing the pg position.

If I was a Cal fan I wouldn't be a CFB fan either. I mean what's happening?

I am starting to wonder if Capela has the same agent as Noel.

When have you known Lebron to ease off? This still sounds like sour grapes to me.
How is not making it a personal goal to play all 82 slacking off?

He clearly said that was something that he was focused on doing last year.

He isn't getting any younger. There is a much bigger picture here.

Outside of a major injury in Oakland, you aren't winning a championship.

So, if sitting him a few games here and there preserves him for 2019 when you can add another Star, so be it.

The only avenue he has towards getting that money is taking the qualifying offer and waiting until next Summer....

Well, unless the Kings go KANGZ.

Nobody else has the space.

Some team would need to make a massive trade or buyout.

Or, offer something of great worth in a sign and trade.

Don't forget to mention the Nutcrackers temper as a reason the Warriors didn't take care of business.

@LAD

Pretty much what you've been saying...

James was leaning toward L.A. for days, and according to those outside his direct orbit, for months. But Paul rejects the commonly held explanations that James was driven either to expand his Hollywood empire or spark an overnight superteam. In the hours after his commitment, the Lakers reached agreements with guard Lance Stephenson and center JaVale McGee—not exactly Kawhi Leonard and Paul George. Any hope of the Lakers building an instant rebuttal to the Warriors was dashed.

if you were trying to keep LeBron fresh and injury free and extend his playing life, what would you do?

A. Let him play on the perimeter- surround him with shooters that spread the floor and keep big men out of the middle...run a little, but mostly run half court where LeBron is up top, the floor is spread.

or

B. Play LeBron off the ball with playmakers. Play him more at PF against big men in the post. Less shooters means more packing of the paint. Try to run with the playmakers you have more instead of playing in the half court.

One LeBron basically barely gets touched as the floor is spread and hees playing against perimeter players.

The other, big men are playing him more, the paint is packed more, and he is in the middle of things, he is running on the break more etc.

kind get where i am going with this?

They need more big men for their 5 big man lineup, he's a perfect fit!

Yeah....

I am really surprised he's going to be the 4.

LeBron is super skilled. But, one of his biggest advantages is being bigger, stronger faster than the other guys at his position.

With that being said....

I saw a quote from Pelinka that I 100% agree with....

Trying to out Warrior the Warriors is madness.

I just don't see the Lakers being able to keep pace with them, Offensively, even if the new faces are able to slow them down.

Maybe I'm wrong...

Time will tell.

Even if I am right, at least they were smart enough to only commit to this style for a Season.

Pelinka explains moves around LeBron: ‘Earvin and I had a conversation, and LeBron echoed this sentiment: to try to play the Warriors at their own game is a trap... so that is why we wanted to add elements of defense, toughness and depth’ espn.com/nba/story/_/id…

@Gman , @LogicMan ...

It's obvious this kid is no Rhodes Scholar.

But, he's super talented.

They need to assign a Assistant Coach to him, like the Bucks did with Giannis, to help him navigate life in the NBA for his first year.

Yesh.

I'd be fine with the Rockets getting a headache and distraction added to the mix...

I can understand that. It's just Melo to me is more of jinx than a missing piece of a title team.
