10 team standard, had zero intentions of retaining him at 2nd round value this yr, can only keep 4 and have better values elsewhere

Asking for draft picks, how high do you request?

if the pick that you get back is extra, so you have your keepers AND a new draft pick... then I would ask for a 5 or a 6...

counter for a 7th... otherwise just drop him... 9th doesn't help you much, we are getting to bench player or QB/D/K/TE level...

it's nice to say 'counter for a better pick'

but you have to remember - keeping Shady will cost the owner their 2nd round pick in the draft.
He held onto DJohnson last year, despite my repeated attempts to trade for him, so his 1st 2 picks are locked up.

And he's not stupid, he knows there's a VERY real chance Shady will be suspended for part of the year.

Lastly, it is literally something for nothing, and I highly doubt a suspended Shady goes in the 2nd round of a 10 team league, so burning that owners 2nd rounder also helps me.

Really hoping another buyer enters the discussion, sent this message to the league last night:
"I've pistol whipped my asking price on McCoy, willing to trade cheap, let me know if interested"

At this point anything is better than nothing especially if you weren't gonna keep him anyway. ...

I meant go as high as they are willing but make sure to move him since you arent keeping. It is something for nothing and hurts your competition

If you can get a 9th round pick, take it. Especially when round value is taken into account.

It is more likely than not that a Shady has played his last down in the NFL.

Don't be greedy.

Shady has no value at all as a 2nd round keeper.

Hell, I wouldn't trade a 3rd round rookie pick for him in dynasty. 4th maybe. But even then, you would probably be giving him away.

Shady as a top 20 pick is ridiculous. He is borderline not worth that before the recent allegations.

I don't have any keeper leagues, but if he has to give up a second round draft pick to keep McCoy, that's most likely the best you can get. I would accept.

I don’t think it is greedy. Depending on starting roster size I don’t want to be trading a rb1 for a bench player. Even if that RB1 is old and is in risk of a suspension. What if he doesn’t get suspended?? Then you just gave a team a top 15 rb for nothing!!! Sure they are taking the risk in this deal but the payoff is too high to trade only a 9th round pick.

Now, my whole view would change if you start more than 6 rbs and wrs

I think most owners will guess that Monkey will drop McCoy and they can wait and see if they can get a bargain in the draft.

And that’s what I am saying. Why give someone that bargain?? A 9th round pick doesn’t move the needle for me.

For the owner offering the trade it's a second and ninth round pick. Hardly a bargain. Chances are he can draft McCoy with that second round pick or gamble that he can wait. No trade, no gain. I know a ninth round pick isn't big, but certainly better then nothing.

the bargain would be the other owners being able to draft Shady later in the draft due to the looming suspension

so not only am I hurting the guy who has to use a 2nd rounder on him, I'm stopping others from getting what they perceive to be a bargain

It is greedy.

Because McCoy in the 2nd round of a 10 team league has no value at all. He was being mocked in the late teens before this news.

Now?

Earliest anybody could draft McCoy would be like 7th round. Monkey is literally getting something for
Nothing here.
