I get road rage quite often and never carry a firearm in the vehicle. I know what happens during a road rage incident and I don't believe Whites story. Cowboys should use a 7th round pick on one of those dbs in the supplemental draft

You don't say... I would have never thought you - the guy who cheers for opposing qbs to have their legs broken and wrs to be paralyzed when they come across the middle - would have road rage.

Just when you think you know a person. Go figure!

One thing I appreciate about Arlington is he doesn't mince words. I suspect he may have been dropped on his head as a child, but at least he is honest.

Interesting, I always thought he overstated to compensate for something.

Correct...happened in October and charges filed June 15. Road rage is real shit and getting worse by the day.
White said this guy hollered racial slurs at him and followed him to his apartments.
Can't say who is in the right but why would this guy follow White to his home and now be the victim?
In addition, since Texas is a right to carry state, what is a person to do when feeling threatened?

I know my Dad is rolling over in his grave. He was of the mindset that you don't pull a gun unless you use it.
Different world and idiots are multiplying.
Quickest way to get yourself shot is to pull a gun and not use it

I don't get that vibe. In his stories I don't usually notice him talking himself up, like he beats people up or is a bad ass. He just says that he often finds himself in a lot of "situations".

Seems every other article I come across has him eventually being a Cowboy. I really want to to roll the dice with what we have but I am not 100% opposed to having Earl. But I do not want to give away the farm which is what I think it will take. Not just picks but the cash as well.
I'd still love to have Earl wearing a star. If the farm is a 2nd round draft pick, I'm down with that

I think it's going to happen - seems inevitable to me. I'm all for it. Even if it costs a 3rd and $10-12m per. Thomas is worth it, especially considering all the youth we have in the secondary he can help bring along.

Seattle has no intention of giving him the deal he seeks. ET3 seems committed to holding out until he gets a new deal, which IMO is probably the smartest business decision he can make at this time considering the ever present threat of injury and he has zero guarantees beyond this year. Seattle lost some of it's leverage when they didn't trade him leading up to the draft, now they will have to settle for a pick next year, or hold onto him for a comp pick two years from now. No reason for Seattle to keep a guy who they won't pay and as a result he won't play, other than spite. Can't imagine Seattle wants to create a messy situation heading into the season with one of the franchises all time greats.

Around the league I have to imagine that other teams will be hesitant to go after ET3 knowing that his heart is in Dallas, and he may not sign an extension with the acquiring team. Leaving Seattle somewhat backed into a corner and almost being forced to deal with Dallas.

I want so bad for this to happen. 3rd round pick in next years draft, throw in a 5th rounder if necessary - get it done.

The money is where I am most worried about. I would like to sign some guys long term with what we have right now.

now is the time to spend that cash. It's a no brainer considering the position he plays and the young guys he'll mentor

Something like $24-25 million in dead money coming off the books next year. The money for a splash acquisition like Thomas III will be there, as well as to re-sign a guy like DLaw and Dak.

I see ET as a weight around our necks in a few years.
I can't worry about that if he gets us over the playoff drought this team has been in for 20 plus years. It's about winning and playoff advance more than money issues down the road
I think he'd have as big a impact as Sean Lee.

I get that if you think his play if going to fall off a cliff. But the guy can still play, and the Safety position tends to age well, relatively speaking. Give him a 5 year deal that is effectively a 3 year deal with option years. He's 29, I think he's still got a few years left of above average play. I think we would all be very happy to have him. The defense would have a real chance at being a dominant unit with him in the fold, IMO.

My concern is his age and recent injury history. I honestly don't see him ever playing 16 games a season again.

I don't have a crystal ball, I'm just want a quality player at a position of need and playoff advancement.

as I said earlier....his impact to this team would be as great as Sean Lee

I get that. Giving up a pick wont bother me too much, especially a 3rd, but the pick and $$$$ for what looks like a short term rental bothers me. I don't need a crystal ball to see ET is closer to the end rather than the beginning.
I won't throw a fit if a deal is reached but I just don't see it as the best option.
