If the Red Sox go .500 for the rest of the season they will 99 wins for the year.

There are only 49 teams to post a .656 winning percentage or better in a season in the history of the modern era. There are currently 3 teams doing it this year. The only other time that has happened was in 1942 during the War.

Orioles continue their ownership of the city of New York(7-4)

Send us a big bowl of Chowdah as a thank you Boston fans when you win the division by a few games

My Orioles suck. They might be the worst team in the modern era, but they can beat the heck out of the Yankees and Mets.

Maybe if they play with the same energy and attitude as they do vs the Yanks then they wouldn't be 26-66

Or maybe if the Yankees didn't revert to playing like the Orioles when they meet, they wouldn't be 4-5 H2H.

Can someone trade for Machado please? Preferably before 7PM

Okthanks

Peter Schmuck of the Baltimore Sun reports that the Red Sox have been in "recent contact" with the Orioles about a Manny Machado trade.

Schmuck notes that there was a Red Sox scout in attendance Tuesday night at Camden Yards for the Orioles' game against the Yankees. Boston isn't the most logical landing spot for Machado given the presence of Xander Bogaerts at shortstop and Rafael Devers at third base, but Devers currently holds a .290 on-base percentage in 89 games this year and could maybe use a little more minor league seasoning -- though he is slugging .424 with 14 home runs. Among the other teams connected to Machado over the last couple of weeks: the Phillies, Dodgers, Brewers, Diamondbacks, Braves, Yankees, and Cubs.

The thing I like about Gardner is nothing!

He is the dummest somebeach to ever play the game. Last nite he had a chance to beat out a play, instead of a longer stride , he facking galloped like a horse right before reaching the bag! He gets dummer over time!

Also saw Jim Duquette speculate that the offer would be something along the lines of

Machado + Britton for German, Drury, and Frazier.

And preferably to the NL

I just don’t understand why the Indians are not going all in for him.

Ramirez to 2nd. Shit Kipnis to the bench. Machado at his better position.

Lindor, Ramirez, Machado infield is just nasty.

They would still have that BP tho

While that's more like it from the Yankees perspective, it does zero to address their deficiency. Actually makes it worse.

Baltimore is also trying to secure a top young arm from the Indians, Morosi also tweets. The ask, in that case, is for either Triston McKenzie or Shane Bieber. Neither pitcher figures to be parted with lightly, particularly for a rental piece.

Definitely. But the Indians have such a nice window right now. And are not historically huge spenders in money so i would go for it now.

Chernoff's never been scared to trade high level prospects before-like the previously mentioned Justus Sheffield along with Clint Frazier.

It is my understanding that Duquette is a royal pain in the ass to deal with, so he's probably asking for more than one of the two prospects mentioned. Otherwise, Cleveland would be foolish not to move on it.

Machado not traded yet. Maybe they pitch around him for a change. I believe the rest of the lineup is hitting a combined .227.
